Was here Sunday after a concert at UNI campus. Everybody in our group enjoyed their meals and we had great service. Interesting old building where the restaurant is located and the ambience inside is terrific.

First time at the downtown Waterloo location. Great old hotel building. Dinner of Veal Marsala was different but good, I have never had veal served over a cheese base but it was different, tasty and good. Wine selection was fun, creamy garlic salad dressing was good too. Service was efficient and fun.

We enjoyed a great meal as a family at The Brown Bottle in downtown Waterloo. While the area seems a bit questionable, we were pleasantly surprised to find great service, good wine and great food. My husband and I split a "date night combo" for $35 which came with bruschetta (enough for all four of us), a salad, entrees and... More

I just went there for a family event. (My grandmother's 101st birthday) and she loves the lasagna. The soup has always been really good, and this time, I tried the shrimp cocktail. The shrimp were huge, and that cocktail sauce was perfect. A little heat, but not too much. Everyone there enjoyed their meals, which is why we go there... More

Love the cozy atmosphere. They also have a nice size room for parties which we have used several times. This time, we went with another couple for date night. Service was excellent, food was a little slower. We were there 45 mins before our appetizer, arrived, and there were only 3 other couples in the restaurant at the time. Another... More

Had dinner on a Friday night. Had reservations so no problem getting a table. The waitstaff appeared to be new. Got our drink and appetizer order and had barely gotten them when the main entree arrived. My entree seemed to have been forgotten and apologies from the staff with no explanation. Most of my party had finished eating by the... More

This restaurant has great ambiance. There are old books lined on shelfs and cozy eating for booths and tables. The lasagna was superb. It has a great beefy sauce and mushroom pieces. My wife enjoyed the Mediterranean salad. It was huge and had lots of mozzarella cheese, olives, pepperchinis. My daughter enjoyed the kids' spaghetti. The house dressings for the... More

This was a delightful "date night" dinner, extremely reasonable prices and in a charming setting. We had reservations & requested a table/booth by the window - which was easily accommodated even though we arrived early. Loved the "Blue Zone" section of their menu, smaller portions with several healthy choices. Even with smaller portions, there was plenty to take home. We... More
