I wasn't aware of this place as it's tucked away in one of those lovely Worcestershire Villages well off the beaten track. We went out for tea because my daughter wanted to buy us tea. You will need a sat nav on your car to get here as you will be travelling along narrow roads but there is plenty of parking available outside. For those not aware of the area look for the village of Wichenford. We ordered some drinks as in a pint of Guinness and some soft drinks for mum and the bairn and the. we sat by the log burning stove in the corner. On the downside, the stove was not on and the lighting in the corner was somewhat dim.
Mum ordered some Pate for starters and the little one and I had some Calamari (Squid). We followed this up with a steak for the little one while mum had some Asian sticky beef and I had some sausages and mash. The staff were very attentive, if a little too much, but we mustn't trifle over such things. Our starters were served on wooden boards while my mains came in a pottery bowl in a lovely triangular shape.
Overall the food was lovely, the little one enjoyed her steak and there were three empty plates at the end. The bill came to just over £80 including the drinks. There guests came in while we were there so the place is popular with the locals, but asI said you just need to find it as its a few miles off the main road. However, for anyone reading this, make an effort to search for it as you will be rewarded. Will definitely visit again in the future. My only wish is for them to have the log burning stove on next time.

We went for Sunday lunch at the Masons Arms and were greeted with a warm welcome. The service was unrushed and excellent throughout. Everything that we ordered was delicious, piping hot, and freshly cooked, with compliments to the chef. The choice of meals from multiple menus was outstanding, catering for adults and children, with a fantastic vegan menu too. We can't wait to go back and can't praise it enough. Highly recommended. 10/10

We stumbled across the Mason Arms more or less by accident when looking for lunch in Martley on Friday 7th January 2022. The frontage when I have passed by previously looked like a large family country house until we spotted the sign outside. We turned off the main road and followed sign to a large rear car park with only a few vehicles present. It was 12.15 and we entered through the rear entrance to what was a welcoming rustic seating area and bar and were greeted by a cheerful member of staff, a young man who asked us what we would like to drink whilst enquiring if we were staying to eat. We were guided to seats near a log burning fire by a lady member of staff who brought us the Seniors Menu whilst waiting for our drinks. We chose our starters and mains from the set menu which we thought was comprehensive and sensibility priced. The starter was served in a timely manner and was both light and refreshing. The mains were soon ready for us both and were served on warm plates and stylish serving dishes. By this time several other diners had turned up who may have been regulars which gave a warming ambiance to the eating area…with background conversations. We paid our bill and left about 1pm telling staff that we would back fairly soon despite the journey from Malvern. We shall be telling our friends about our good fortune in finding for us , what is a hidden gem.
Well done to the staff of the Mason Arms. Mike & Lillian.

We did an adhoc meal here one night last week. Really disappointed - We ordered the sharer Camembert and it was so small I thought they were going to bring more but they didn’t, given what it was it was astonishingly expensive.
I ordered the Mason arms fried chicken and the fried chicken should be crisp with a good crunch but it was moist and wet which spoilt the meal.
Partner had the halloumi vegan burger which was just a tasteless mess with served with half cooked chips.
Very expensive with poor food!

I always enjoy the drive through the countryside to this pretty and relaxing pub. We visited for lunch and ordered the mezze and a couple of extra items from the tapas menu. It all arrived beautifully presented and we had a highly enjoyable time munching our way through all the different flavours ! In fact there was so much we couldn’t polish it all off - much as we would have liked to ! I definitely recommend visiting this welcoming, relaxing, and very pretty pub in the countryside.

Awful overpriced bbq. £6 for a burnt burger on a bbq, not Cooked by a chef. Cooked by an unexperienced waitress on presumably her first shift, awful service as she refused to except her burger was burnt and poor communication as the person cooking didn’t tell us how to pay. Needs a lot of work. Absolute mess. Will try again in the future. Hope they improve and get organised.

Hi Mark,
You certainly do make some (wrong) assumptions about the girl who served you and a very questionable story about the experience you had with us on Sunday.
Firstly she is one of our Senior Supervisors who has worked here for a number of years.
Secondly she stepped in last minute to help out on the BBQ as we were left short staffed in the kitchen because of illness.
Thirdly we sold over 150 burgers on Sunday and not once did anyone complain to her or myself that theirs was burnt.
Had they done so they would have immediately been offered a replacement or refund as that is and always has been our policy. No quibbles, no fuss. Whatever it takes to make it right. As she has worked here for 5+ years no one knows this more than the Supervisor who cooked your burger.
Fourthly she instructed everyone who asked her for a burger on exactly the procedure to follow; order at the bar, obtain a receipt and give it to her. Simple. So simple in fact that every other person managed it without a problem.
I don't normally respond to reviews on this forum as I believe that everyone is entitled to share their experiences so that other potential customers can make a judgement on whether or not they wish to frequent a particular establishment.
What I do have an issue with is inaccurate reviews based on falsified information and totally unknown assumptions made about particular staff members that you have pulled from thin air.
In this very challenging time for the hospitality industry there is no place for lies and assumptions.

We went for a meal on the eve of our sons wedding, he recommended it based on a previous visit.
Service was fantastic very attentive waiter who helped with our food choice.
We wanted a good steak and I can say the sirloin did not disappoint, another choice was the cod & chips which was delicious not to mention the Hoi Sin sticky beef 😋
The service was complete when arranging our taxi… Laura the owner offered to take us to our hotel that is service above & beyond
Thank-you for a memorable evening

We had a nice evening: service was very friendly and efficient. My two dinner companions had a steak and a gammon, which they both enjoyed very much. I had the mussels, which I didn't enjoy so much. The presentation was great and the sauce was wonderful, but the mussels themselves were tiny. I've never seen mussels so small: half of them weren't even worth the effort of getting out of the shell. Such a shame, but they really should have been returned to the supplier. Definitely should not have been served up to an unexpecting customer who was charged £14.95 for the disappointing dish.

Ordered for collection but apparently the staff found the distinction between 5 and 6 difficult.
I was unaware a pizza could look ill or be albino.
I also thought tomato sauce was a key ingredient on a pizza - apparently not.
Although, the beef tomatoes whacked on top was an unexpected surprise.
It had less flavour than a Ryvita cracker and it actually became a chore eating it.
One of the most unfulfilling experiences of my life, was actually jealous of my dog’s tea today.
Would not recommend!

It is an enjoyable short countryside drive out from Worcester to this lovely pub. The food is excellent quality, delicious and all home made. It is great to find a menu that offers something different to the usual pub grub options. I had the Sticky Beef in Hoisin Sauce - the meat melted in my mouth and the portion was mighty generous. We shared a mountain of homemade nachos to start - and it was wonderfully, completely smothered in cheese. The staff were lovely and friendly. The food was great value as well as delicious. Definitely highly recommended!

We have just a most delicious Sunday roast lunch, a choice today between lamb and beef, with a variety of veg, roasties, Yorkshire pudding and gravy. It was all very tasty and most enjoyable. There was a good variety of desserts to follow. Now trying to keep awake after a lovely meal.

After visiting nearby Witley Court we were looking for a warm lunch. We had the fixed price senior menu of minestrone soup, sausage and mash and fish and chips. The soup was excellent, as were the meaty sausages and mash with red cabbage. My fish could have done a with a few minutes longer in the fryer as it was a bit soggy. The bread roll served with the soup had been microwaved and was very chewy.
Service was excellent and we were madeto feel very welcome. Covid guidelines were being followed so it felt very safe.

My wife and I decided to try the Senior Menu at the Masons yesterday (Friday 3rd Oct 2020). We were joined by our daughter and youngest grand-daughter, aged 3. I cannot commend Laura and her staff for the excellence of our experience. They treated our grand-daughter like a princess - nothing was too much trouble. Sometimes, a Senior menu is a lower price, but a much smaller portion. Not at the Masons. Two or three courses, very sensibly priced, and as full a portion as the regular menu. Our daughter is a vegetarian and was very pleasantly surprised with the quality of her meal, having recently had indifferent offerings elsewhere. Well done to all at the Masons, it's not the last time you'll be seeing us!
