This was our first experience here and it proved to be extremely disappointing. The staff were unwelcoming and abrupt and the environment unappealing. We hoped the food would compensate for this but sadly not. We ordered roast meals. They came plated, drowned in gravy with a very poor selection of vegetables. We will not be returning.

Located in a small village this is a hidden gem in my opinion, last visited early on a Tuesday evening and there was only one other table occupied so the atmosphere was a little flat but the food more than made up for this. Cooked at your table the fillet steak au poivre was a delight, homemade pate to start... More

We visited the Wagon Wheel with two friends for Sunday lunch. Never again! The food was poor overall with lumpy gravy over the mediocre lab and turkey. The waitress was surly and doled out the cranberry and mint sauce rather than leave the bowls on the table for us to help ourselves. We left to have our desserts and coffee... More

Once again Sunday lunch was fantastic. Great front of house, exceptional food, with rare roast rib of beef carved at the table. The sweet trolley, with home made puddings is really good. I love this place and will endeavour to go again as soon as I can

I have had the unfortunate experience of being taken to the emptily pretentious restaurant. I love being treated to food, and I love good food. The atmosphere here is dark and bleak and SO fake. It felt like being in a bad Mr Bean comedy. The waiter has no real clue how to be a high-end waiter, the food is... More

We visited here last month for the first time, the food was so good we brought my parents back for the second visit to show them how great it is! The staff are warm and friendly, they all have a good sense of humour but are professional with it. The food is amazing, the steak was cooked to perfection. Lots... More

À very charming restaurant lost in the middle of nowhere. The owner is a very nice man who makes you feel home as soon as you step in. The wines are very well chosen and the food tastes amazing ! Each fish is fresh and perfectly cooked in the dinning area. A wide selection of dishes is on their menu.... More

The Wagon Wheel is a lovely restaurant at the end of a dead end road in the middle of nowhere. We want for lunch and the average age must have been about 70 but if you like food do not let that put you off. The menu is extensive and not the usual pub menu that you get at many... More

My wife and I have been driving to this pub/restaurant for 15 years, a round trip of 60 miles just for a 'bar meal'. The food is to die for and lunchtime menu extensive. Today was grilled liver and bacon for me which melted in my mouth, as usual. Most of the reviews on here mention the quality of the... More

Bit like stepping back into the late 60's early 70's when one looks at the menu, but non the worse for that. The food is well cooked and the portions more than adequate. If you have a small appetite then select a very light starter or you will not make it through to the wonderful dessert trolley. A real blast... More
