Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We called in today to buy some more chutney and piccalilli and also came away with jam and cakes that we hadn't intended to buy but we know from past experience they will all be excellent, didn't have time to stop for tea and cakes...in the tea room today, but we also know that this is excellent and exceptional value for money. Sally and her ladies are lovely and very welcoming, highly recommend a visit.More

My hubby found the tearoom whiles staying in the area we booked in the garden room the staff were lovely and friendly I chose the afternoon tea ( I have had a fair few) my hubby ham & eggs my sandwich was brought out on...a plate and the waitress asked if I would like the cakes bringing out I said yes please I was sharing them with my hubby, there was a scone with jam & cream & 3 miniature slices of cake all delicious the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was all afternoon teas I have had came on cake stands with a small salad & crisps & coleslaw and some of the pictures show this with the sandwich element but other than this the food was fresh and delicious 😋More

Really disappointed as tea room sounded lovely but felt it lacked service with a smile and lunch was poor. First impressions were not great no smiles or how can we help . Just no hot food available we were told. We spent 27 pounds on...a cheese toastie , 2 blt sandwiches and 2 pops and 1 slice of quiche which was a bit steep for yorkshire . The blt had the hardest slice of bacon was like plastic and bit tight one Tiny piece for nearly 7 quid just wow. Bread roll was small too struggled to fill my squaddie partner. My advice drive on by as overpriced and poor service . Paid less had better.More

We have just been for a drive out, pulling into Sally Middlewood tea room. We purchased 2 scones with jam and butter 1 latte & 1 cup of tea for £12.50. The scones arrived. They were nothing like the ones Sally shows on her picture.(very...misleading) They were the smallest scones I have seen, being 2inches across by 1 inch deep. I did mention this to a member of staff who did not apologise. She just said that she would pass this on. My recommendation to anyone would be to drive on by this place.More

Stopped off for breakfast. I had the breakfast in a bun and my wife had poached eggs on toast. Everything was presented well and the food was extremely tasty. Coffee (Cappuccino) was excellent, and the service was faultless and friendly. We live locally so will...definitely be returning.More

Having stopped here several years ago again walking in the area we decided to revisit. As before, we found it a perfect stop on the Wolds Way. So perfect that we stopped there again a week later after another walk. The bacon sandwich was excellent....The soup a pleasant surprise. The service was 110% as our requests were filled. We found the staff very accommodating and friendly. The place was clean, food excellent, people lovely..... we'll be back.More
