On a whim, we decided to try the Bear for lunch. We were met and greeted by a very friendly member of staff. The premises are spotlessly clean but are a little on the bare and uncluttered side so was a tad echoy. This might...More

About twenty of our office went for our Christmas meal here. It’s a lovely pub/restaurant and the staff were very friendly. We all had the sharing platters which were tasty but a little predictable. The main turkey course was very tasty and presented in a...More

We was in the area and looked up this restaurant, on TripAdvisor, for lunch. On arrival, found out that a selection of beers on tap was produced by The Old Cannon brewery, one of my favourite pubs in Bury St Edmunds. Excellent start. I ordered...More

I visited the Bear before Christmas for a meal with my family. We were warmly welcomed and really enjoyed our meal. The menu was interesting, the food was really good and the service was excellent. We will be going back.

Nice atmosphere; 4 of us and we all had nice meals. Can recommend the Suffolk sharing platter, the venison, red Thai curry. Staff were really nice and helpful. Will definitely visit again next time we are down that neck of the woods.

Went to the Bear at Beyton on Monday for their St. Edmund's Day lunch special. The menu was unusual (lots of game) and wonderfully cooked. I had the Game Wellington pie with pureed parsnip - it was one of the best meals I have eaten...More

It was certainly a talking point, for different reasons? It seemed to be suitably staffed, but no one other than the duty manager seemed to be overly busy, even though the restaurant was full. Our starters were lovely with everyone getting what they ordered &...More

We had a very enjoyable lunch at the Bear Inn. The service was friendly, the food was good and the surroundings were fine. The interior has been renovated but without any thought to the sound levels or attempt to dampen the echoes. What is obviously...More

We had dinner here and the tiger prawns and the fish pie were good. However, as an earlier reviewer has written, it is very noisy as the sound comes straight through from the bar. There are no soft furnishings such as curtains which would help...More
