If you are in Louisville don't miss this. Michelle will take exceptional care of your table. Have not had food that good in Along time. Bourbon bread pudding was out of this world. Enjoy the Museum but don't miss the Cafe.....

Great service, great food, reasonably priced! We both ordered the brisket and it was so good! Came with fries and coleslaw, I really don't like coleslaw at all but it was good. The fries were great!

I figured if you are going to Louisville, you have to get local cuisine. What better place than Churchill Downs itself? We were greeted by Jim, who, being pretty old, lent an air of history to the whole experience which made it even better. And outside we could see a retired racehorse from our table, which just reminded you where... More

My wife and I tried this small restaurant out when we visited Churchill Downs recently. We didn't plan on a full meal and we were able to simply order for one and split our items. We wanted pure Kentucky/Louisville fare. So, we started with a mint julep which was quite good. For lunch, we had the Derby Cafe's version of... More

I have lived in Louisville, KY, all my life. And have visited the Kentucky Derby Museum before - which I also highly recommend to anyone who hasn't been. However, we recently visited the museum with out-of-town guests and decided to try lunch at the Derby Cafe - located right at the Derby Museum. It did not disappoint. The service was... More

After a fabulous tour of Churchill Downs we stopped for a very disappointing lunch in the cafe. The food was mediocre at best and the service, at least from our waiter, was terrible. He largely ignored us and when asked for something said "certainly" and then disappeared with no return in sight. I had the meatloaf "hamburger" which just wasn't... More

Came here with some coworkers for lunch. Nice restaurant, food is great, local specials and great view to some stables. Would highly recommend.

Had a famous hot brown sandwich and mint julep. My husband ordered an old fashioned and had a meatloaf hamburger. We both enjoyed our meals very much.

Delicious tasting Derby pie. Just stepped in for a little break and pie, but we also received a sample of mint julep for being the first in for the day. It was a spearminty bourbon drink.

Super service - Mister Calvin very helpful waiter! Stopped in after tour Churchill Downs very informative and the cafe looked very inviting and comfortable place to take a short break. Salads were very generous in portions and was very good. We tried an appetizer of breaded wonton Kentucky Ham was interesting warm and good too. The Derby pie was good... More
