Booked online same day, asking for good view if possible. Tick, great table by the window overlooking the rail bridge. first impressions were of a much larger than expected venue which was very tastefully designed. Despite being very busy there was no long wait for...More

I've stayed here on business and for pleasure, cracking place for visiting Edinburgh. Really nice hotel rooms, food is absolutely brilliant. It's busy and the staff are pushed but it's worth it. Really good place to spend the night.

We dropped in today for lunch. Got seats right away although we hadn't booked and it was busy. A lovely 3 roast platter, 2 wines & an alcohol free Koparburg cider for less than £40 including tips. Very nice old established inn and recommend it...More

Come here fairly regularly - as a walk in. The food is quite simple, yet delicious, something for everyone. The beer garden is a chilled big space, usually underused. I'd recommend.

Real Old Inn well worth the short trip. Great view of the new bridge. Good modern menu with lots to choose from. Great service. Lamb shank was well cooked.

I haven't spent New Year at Hawes Inn but if their Festive menu and service is anything like their usual day to day food and service, then I would think you might be in for a good night. Hope this helps
