A contemporary country inn with its fair share of history, The Parkers Arms is located just outside of Clitheroe in the prettily sleepy village of Newton in Bowland where, so were told you can hear the grass grow. The beautifully traditional whitewashed inn, hung with colourful baskets of flowers and lined with parasol shaded outdoor tables, invites guests in with the promise of glorious regional food and a relaxed but sophisticated atmosphere both of which it delivers in spades. The cuisine is rightfully British, with a few global treats of course, based on local and seasonal ingredients cooked using creativity and imagination as well as a little tradition too (and speaking of

We visited Parkers Arms on the wettest day of the year but the meal and atmosphere was far from a damp squib.
We had reserved a table and were gladly seated next to the fire in the bar area allowing us (and the wooden floors!)...More
We did the room and three course dinner deal. Lovely cosy pub, and Ben who served us was extremely friendly and attentive. The room, as they stated, was basic but clean and comfortable. Ben sat us by the fire for our meal and kept it...More
After seeing many fantastic reviews for the Parker’s arms and wonderful photos on twitter I decided to enquire. They have a winter and spring offer on which is £120 per couple for an overnight stay, 3 course meal and breakfast. We travelled from Lancaster and...More
This was our 3rd visit and this time with our grown up children - unrelenting critics. Food and service were pronounced exceptional, especially by the vegetarian in our midst.
Standout dished included the mushroom confit- rich and flavoursome, the lamb cutlets - perfectly cooked on...More
So, the title gives the review a positive start. I would certainly recommend that any person thinking of going reads previous reviews before they make up their mind. We arrived on time for our booking. The service was provided by a new waiter and another...More

I would say so. They usually cater really well for veggies and vegans. Why don't you just mention it when you book. That way, they know in advance and can make you something really tasty and keep some back for you if it gets a run on the orders for it before you turn up. Stosie the head chef is very good with tasty plant based options!

I travelled from Scotland but stayed overnight in the rooms they have upstairs. I only wish it was closer. The food is fantastic as is the hosting and the scenery in the area is lovely. Don't know how long your journey from Derbyshire is but I know if you phone ahead as recommended by another reviewer they will really look after you.
