My husband and I had dinner on a weekday night. Great value and good food. There blueberry pie a la mode, of course, was the best!

Although this restaurant was at one time part of the Machias Helen's, it was sold over 10 years ago. Read the About Us section on the Machias Helen's webpage. My husband had spaghetti with meatballs which had way too much filler. The loaf of bread is definitely not a homemade bread....could be Wonderbread. I had ribs, which were baked and... More

We ate early evening, but there several groups of locals present. The staff were friendly and the food good. The ribs looked a dry and a little unappetising, but turned out to be moist and tasty - the sauce added to the taste and did not overwhelm the meat. Unfortunately, we were too full to have a desert, which had... More

Nice place, good staff, meh dinner. The food was just okay. They are known for pies, but that was just okay too. Prices added up quickly and it was just not worth the money. But love the staff!

A nice little restaurant with hardwood floors and Downeast ambiance. Friendly service. Good food. Best corn chowder and fish chowder I have ever had. Great desserts!

A down home friendly place. Very friendly staff. Menu is everywhere from breakfast all day to sandwiches to lobster dinners. Big well done variety menu. Very popular and busy. Also sells bakery things on display. Modest prices. Well worth the trip.

There were many menu choices, so all would be happy with this choice for a meal. The food was good as was the service. Cozy family atmosphere. Reasonable prices with lots of sea food choices. Go for dessert first, as their pies are delish.

We visited Helen's for dinner and both ordered the fresh whole lobster dinner with baked potato and salads. The salads were very fresh and the baked potatoes nice an hot and delicious. The lobsters were perfectly cooked and wonderful. The desserts looked delicious, but we did not have any because we were full. Service was excellent.

This was our first time dining at Helen's in Ellsworth, though I had eaten in their Machias location in the past. Lovely, homey atmosphere, friendly, fast service, reasonable prices and nice portion sizes. We both got the fish and chips and it was perfect! We topped it off with a piece of their famous pie ala mode!
