I took my dad for lunch. We did not book and were told we could only have the bar menu. There were only about 4 choices. The meals were served on something a little larger than a teaplate. My dad had pie and chips. He could not cut the pastry. It looked like a ready made pie cut in half.... More

Hi, Really sorry for that experience, we only took over a few weeks ago and only secured a chef last week. Our temporary bar menu was simply so people could have something while we were searching for a new chef. If you would like to return we will give you a full refund for that day. We now offer full... I called by whilst out on the bike and received a very friendly welcome, piping hot tea and a bacon roll, perfect for a winter ride fuel stop. Very well priced, nicely warmed up. Good luck to the both of you. I'll be sure to pop by again. Thanks

Visited just after lunch Saturday, fabulous old pub, recently under new management so a full food menu is by special arrangement until the new chef arrives. Wonderful welcome, lovely atmosphere, tasty bacon bap, great coffee and a great piece of fruit cake. A bit off the beaten track, but well worth a visit!

We decided at last minute to stop for lunch, a few people had recommended this pub so we decided to give it a try. We wasn't disappointed one of our party had the goulash and reckons it was one of the best they have had. I had the pork sausages and mash in mustard gravy this was delicious. Though the... More

On a lovely summer's evening we decided to take a drive out into the countryside and as we hadn't been to this pub for many years, thought we'd revisit. When we entered, it had the feel of a real country pub, original decor and full of character. The gentleman who greeted us from behind the bar, was pleasant and helpful.... More

Booked in for a family birthday celebration Sunday lunch for six. Excellent lunch, lots of meat, nice Yorkshire pudding, crispy roasts, good selection of fresh vegetables. Service good, nice ambience. Would definitely recommend.

The Old Barn is close to where I was staying with friends. I have know it in many guises for over 20 years. It is now a quiet but friendly pub that is popular with locals. The real ale is well kept and great food is served in the bar. I had the goulash, which was sensational, It is well... More

dropped in here for a fri night meal while staying nearby. We got a warm greeting on arrival and shown a table. I had the goulash and dumplings and cheesecake. The food was lovely served well. Enjoyed the evening. The pub seems to be a local to many but we were mad to feel very welcome.

We had been to The Old Barn some time ago when it was under different management. Then it was very good, and we wondered if it was still good. We were not disappointed. The quality was excellent, both of the food and drink. The Langton beer was very acceptable, and the wine by the glass very good too. Although one... More

My husband and I popped in as part of our walk of the Leicestershire round. The service was a & food arrived very quickly. We only had a fish finger sandwich but the bread wasn't hard and the chips were well cooked & the whole thing was presented well. There wasn't a huge choice in the menu but sometimes that's... More
