Has to be a Maine staple! Ruth and Wimpy are both a delight and work hard to make it a down home experience. The menu is endless, best homemade entrees and deserts. It is amazing what they whip up out of their tiny kitchen! Have to add, fresh lobster anyway you desire❤️

Stopped in for early dinner. I had been here years before and it's still very good and a nice clean place. Friendly staff and big menu. We had fried lobster bits, fried oysters and sweet potato fries all yummy. If you are in the real you really should stop here.

We went here on a Saturday night; that was a BIG mistake!! The restaurant was very busy and we waited for a half hour to be seated; once seated, we waited about 15 minutes before placing our order. The waitress suggested that we order appetizers because it would take awhile for our dinners to be served. Our appetizers consisted of... More

On a rainy day driving east on US 1 to see the Schoodic Point section of Acadia NP we found Ruth and Wimpy's on TA. Place was crowded but service was good. We had an excellent lobster stew and haddock chowder. Also very good fried oysters.

This is a small riad side restaurant that offers excellent comfort food. Their menu is extensive and desserts are to die for.

For years, I have heard so much about Ruth and Wimpys from locals in Maine, and was in the area and stopped for dinner. It was just not good. I was really disappointed.

We had a table reserved outside where we could eat with our dog. The staff were friendly and the service was good. Excellent blueberry pie and fantastic corn on the cob. I had a lobster that was cooked perfectly in the outside steamer pot (huge pot with a pleasant wood fire smell). This is a great place to visit for... More

Very average meal. I ordered the lobster claws and it ended up being good meat but very little meat. My baked potato was way over cooked and not good. With the selection of other restaurants in the area we definitely will not go back.

Our innkeeper recommended we eat at Ruth and Wimpys. It was everything she said and more. I had lobster and my husband had the whole belly clams. Both excellent and a good value. Lots of choices for sides as well. The atmosphere is very casual and fun with funny signs plastered everywhere. We received quick and friendly service. They also... More

This restaurant is advertised as a lobster pot restaurant, but the menu is extensive with many other dishes. Choice include sandwiches, fried seafood and salads. I had a Creamy Clam Chowder that was a meal in itself. My wife had a Caesar Lobster Salad that had a lot of lobster claw meat. The prices are very reasonable. This is a... More
