Having heard of its popularity, we arrived at 5:00pm on a Friday thinking we would beat the crowd... we just barely got a table and there was a long line waiting to get in when we left about an hour later. The waitstaff couldn't have been nicer. The menu offers nice twists on familiar dishes. We had the poutine, rich... More

Had an early dinner here with my husband. Grilled cheese and tomato soup...but it didn't disappoint. We easily got a table at 5 pm...and it was on a Tuesday night. We have tried to come here before and it was packed and the wait list was long. We also got the marinated olives which were good and the fish and... More

It doesn't look much from the outside but it is very popular and if you want a seat without waiting you need to go early. No reservations. Quick and attentive service, wide range of beers and wine, interesting and very tasty food, sort of cross between American bar food and nouvelle cuisine. Very friendly atmosphere, you can't help but chat... More

Still a great place, still similar menu and feel after all these years. Had a beer and strawberry donuts - donuts were super good, crunchy, warm - fresh put of the fryer. Holy yum. Beer as always was great, decent prices, busy as always. Beers have taken a more local spin, i recall more European brews in visits prior -... More

I had dinner there over the weekend and was very happy with the food and the service. The fried buffalo oysters were incredible. As was everything else! A great spot to have dinner with friends.

The host is most accomodating - each bite is unique and so flavorful - menu changes to keep things fresh - excellent drinks - cant say enough, our favorite place to go to eat locally, even though we live in Portsmouth where restaurants are numerous and good, this is a stand out.

This was my third visit to this small, cozy spot in the downtown area of Kittery, ME, known as the Foreside. Knowing that the place ALWAYS is packed and doesn't accept reservations, we went on a hot summer Tuesday night. We were seated within 10 minutes, and they always serve you drinks while you are waiting - a nice touch,... More

6 family members celebrated a birthday here this past Saturday. The menu, which changes frequently, allowed us to order 1 of each from the appetizers, main course, and desserts. More on this later. All the coursed are served as the kitchen finishes each plate. We could have had everything served at once but this immediate serving of each dish allowed... More

my husband and two friends went to Black Birch for dinner. We went early since we have been there before and know that the dining room fills up fast. The beer selection is always awesome and this night it did not disappoint. The taps change fairly frequently so every time is a new experience. The food is always good...my husband... More
