I stop at Sam's each time I go to Maine. The italian roll is just big enough for me, the bread doesn't overwhelm the sandwich. My husband loves their pizza, so it's a win-win when we go there.

I like to think of myself as a Woopie Pie expert. I have had Woopie Pies in many states and even in Italy. By far the best Woopie Pies I have ever had are from a chain sub shop in Maine. SAMs Italian sandwich Shoppe is only in a few locations in southern Maine. It is over two hours from... More

My understanding is that Sams is a regional chain but they sure act like the national chain, Subway. Subway because just like Subway you are paying a high price for vegetables on a roll, and the roll at Sams is not even as good as Subways. I thought a regional chain would certainly be better than Subway but I was... More

I have lost track of how many Sam's I have been too but I will continue to write great reviews for them because my experiences are always great with them. The Main street one I believe is one of the original ones as it's the only business grandfathered and allowed to have a Billboard advertising their establishment. The have on... More

We walked in at closing time with 10 hungry college basketball players and 2 coaches and the staff were more than accommodating. They helped us with smiles, gave us great suggestions and took care of us in general. The bread on my sub was ridiculously good, sub was average. Girls enjoyed their meals. My wife really enjoyed the cranberry walnut... More

3 paper thin slices of turkey, 4 skinny green peppers, tomatoes but lots of onions to fill the roll...no value...extra for black olives...too bad. Sam's could take a lesson from SubWay. I knew Sam Bennett (Sam;s founder) he would be embarrased.

Great italians with nice fresh, soft, white bread. Sam's has the best italian buns ever! Grab a drink, a bag of chips, and a whoopie pie and go have a picnic! (or eat inside)

Average food, a go-to place for quick meals after work or on the way to the beach! Bread is fresh, and don't miss out on the whoppie pie!
