We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food in this very casual place, with loud but excellent live music playing. This was not a typical Maine menu, a bit more sophisticated and definitely well executed.

Great pub atmosphere, live fiddle player just sitting around playing Irish style music. Food and beer selection just what you'd expect from a small pub. Food was really good if just a tad expensive. Music did seem a little loud after a while.

Thank you so much for you great review. Delighted that you enjoyed your visit. The BBC is a cozy spot, and if the music is too loud in the main dining room, the SNUG might be a better option for seating, where one is a bit more insulated, but not removed. thank you again. More

Got wait listed to get in here on Saturday night so be sure to call ahead as quite a few people got turned away. Food was very good, server was working hard. Live music was very entertaining! Definitely will go back.

Surprised this location wasn't on The Causeway where much of the summer action is...On 302 outside of town. Clean surroundings, striving for that Irish Pub atmosphere. A few too many Guinness mirrors, sorry. Also before the acoustic guitar player came on (nice touch on a Sunday evening) the Irish music must really frustrate the FOH staff. Please update the playlist. OK,... More

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. The decor is always changing, and the mirrors help reflect available light, particularly during the off season, when it's very dark inside and out. Delighted you enjoyed most of the food offerings, indeed we do chop our Romaine, which is a departure from the 'old school', but it is freshly... More

I, and my family, recently had an early dinner at the Black Bear Cafe. We all enjoyed our food, the service was friendly and fast, and the beer was good. I had the haddock special. It was fresh and the sauce (which was not heavy) was delicious, and flavorful. The mashed potatoes were some of the better ones I've had.... More

Great food, live music & good beer and wine selections. I had the fish & chips, which was delicious. Waitress was very friendly. Went on a date with my husband on a Saturday night and it got really crowded, so go early. Would definitely recommend & will go back next time we are in Naples.

I really liked the ambiance of this place, and I was excited to eat at an Irish Pub. We didn't go on the weekend, but since the staff was so friendly, I can only imagine it would be great fun when you could listen to live music. The drinks weren't expensive like many other pubs we visited, so that was... More

An authentic Irish pub in the heart of the Lakes Region. Created in the spirit of country pubs in southern Ireland, the owner, from Waterford, Ireland, assures us that the tradition and ambiance of a true 'public house' is presented to each guest that visits 'the Bear." The staff are each trained to pour a perfect pint, great food is delivered from the tiny kitchen, including local favorites like Fish 'n Chips, steaks, salads, seafood, burgers, and amazing desserts. Ask your server about vegetarian and gluten free options too.
