Visitors feel welcomed the moment they arrive. Friendly staff and great service complement the elegant yet rustic space. The menu is creative and seasonal. This was our second visit--the first time we arrived with gluten-free guests who were also happy with the offerings. The Roost...More

This restaurant is great, I've eaten here often. My last time (Labor Day weekend 2015) was no exception. Great service, drinks, food and ambiance. However, I refrained from giving them five stars because of one small incident which infuriated me. I ordered a martini and...More

After a relaxing day we enjoyed a delicious meal. My fish was fresh as can be and Kathy's gnocchi's were light and tasty. Good Beer as well!

A really great menu that lived up to its expectations. I had the salmon, which was tender and exquisitely spiced (with a sweet jerk sauce). Prosciutto, figs, and manchego for appetizer. Absolutely perfect waiter (Ryan), who didn't over- or under-check on us. Gave me tastes...More

Hi Logan and thank you for a really nice review. And again, thank you for taking the time to write it thoughtfully. So glad that you enjoyed the meals, except for one- you are right, the famous meal; the Cuban Pork. We are so unhappy...More

Stopped by for lunch and totally enjoyed the 'Cubano' sandwich. Roast pork shoulder, black forest ham, Swiss, Dijon aioli, & dill pickle ribbons, served on rustic white bread. My wife enjoyed a very well prepared Caesar Salad with romaine, caesar dressing, anchovies and marinated chicken....More

Second time we go there. They offer many gluten-free items in their menu with excellent quality food, including fried stuff and amazing dessert. Both times we really enjoyed it. Will certainly go for a third time

We returned again to Roost during this visit to Oqunquit. While the restaurant doesn't have a children's menu, they did a wonderful job of accommodating my 5 year old (well behaved) grandaughter. My daughter ordered the gnocchi bolognese and declared it the best she has...More

Quaint restaurant with terrific breakfast foods. They put their own signature stamp on everything, which makes for an extra-delicious and unique breakfast. I loved the lemon ricotta pancakes. The staff was extremely attentive and nice. Would love to go back for a dinner sometime, given...More

Dear Mr. Pinkham: I'm not sure how you can say "all the other reviews," if you take the "poor" and "terrible" reviews equal about 20% of the reviews posted. Another 20% defined it as average. We appreciate getting good food for a good value for our money. It seems that was not apparent for us and others. I may indeed be incorrect on the seating numbers, but July Fourth weekend, one would think that :excess" space would be in demand. I do not wish to get into a pissing match here. I try to be as forthright as possible with my reviews. If a place excels, I will post it as such, even noting minor missteps. But if a place is deserving of poor marks, I will post that too. Yes, it is subjective, but I've eaten in some awesome low and high end places, and I've eaten in some horrible high end and low end places. Please accept my and the other less than wonderful reviews as constructive criticism and use it for the betterment of your establishment. I hope you succeed in that task.
