Nothing special about the atmosphere. Food is good, not great. I ordered the steak tips, and I thought they were delicious. But my green beans were undercooked and had WAY too much lemon juice (or some kind of acidic drizzle) on them. The potatoes were...More

We visited on a Friday night and found the restaurant very busy and decided to try it out with the amount of traffic in and out of the parking area. We are glad we did! It was a wonderful meal of Surf and Turf. The...More

Lobster Lobster Lobster. Lobsters of every size, steamed, baked stuffed, surf and turf. I had surf and turf with Sirloin Steak. The steak was good just right and the steamed Lobster Tails were delicious. Steak had the charred taste, mmmm.

The lobster was good, they even cut it in half for us and cracked the claws. Easier to eat. Generous with the sides to go with it as well. Service was very pleasant.

Fond memories of this place 30 years ago and once or twice in between. The yankee decor is the same and so is the big outdoor tank filled with lobsters. You pick your own, it is steamed and delivered to your table. The evening had...More

Every July we make our pilgrimage to Maine for lobster. The Ogunquit Lobster Pound had been our go to for lobster. This year for us things were different. Our server was inattentive, indifferent and did not smile . She was just very unpleasant which made...More

We have been coming to (and raving about) the Lobster Pound for decades. Whenever we are in the area (about once every 5 years) we make a point to stay in Ogunquit, just to eat at the Lobster Pound (ok, and to walk the Marginal...More

We arrived early and are glad we did. People waiting outside when we left even though it is a big place. Decor plain but timeless...looks like it hasn’t changed since it opened. And then the lobsters. You pick your own and pay by weight. They...More

We do not take reservations however, we do like a "heads up" when a large party is coming in. Please call the restaurant to discuss further when we open for the season. Thanks for contacting us.

I am not sure if soft shell lobsters are available in September. Personally I prefer the hard shell lobsters and Ogunquit Lobster Pound cooks and cracks them so perfectly, there is no reason to get the soft shell lobster... More
