We were on the hunt for Maine lobsters as most restaurants were either sold out or very high-priced due to the lack of them. Gilberts offered a Twin lobster special for $35 which isn't too bad...we of course also had to get their clam chowder....More

Super simple fish fry and chowder place. Extensive seafood menu with plenty of specials. We had a lunch of claim strips, onion rings, fries, fried scallops, and clam chowder. The clam strips may have come out of a bag, but the rest was fantastic. Onion...More

I've stopped in for a lobster roll a couple times here. They are very tasty. The decor is a little beaten up but the service is prompt and efficient. Not much in the way of views but the food makes it a positive experience.

This is one our go-to's when we are in Portland. Parking is hell especially in the summer but that describes Portland. There are a few parking spots behind the restaurant for the lucky few. There is often a line but it moves quickly. The servers...More

Excellent award-winning chowder and lobster BLT. My husband had the fish and chips special and he loved it. Place could use some sprucing up and cleaning

We had the clam chowder/ calmari and the clam chowder/scallops and one coke. For the $40 bill this is what we received: hole in the wall atmosphere, disinterested waitress, a heap of fries that were pretty good, 6 scallop breaded and fried well and tasty...More

While in Portland for business, stopped by this place one night. It just oozes Maine. Chowders and many other seafood options. Quick and friendly service...at least in January. Wonderful place.

We spent three days in Portland and my wife had to go twice. She absolutely loved the seafood chowder! I’m not a seafood fan, but the fish sandwich was plenty good

Course we had the chowder. Was very thick, and good. Reasonable prices, along with good service. If in the area again, will stop in. Recommend,,,

I'm not really sure... they would need plenty of time to get ready and I don't think that they're set up for large groups.. its like going to your local diner and saying " can you handle 18 for breakfast"/// maybe not....
