I went to Federal spice a while back. They have authentic Jamaican dishes. I loved the jerk chicken with rice and beans. The tilapia and Cajun catfish wraps are good too.

Burritos are good sized and reasonably priced which brings me back regularly. The jerk chicken the last several visits didn't really taste jerky but rather bland, not sure why this is. I would really like to see the marinade more present and this is Federal "Spice" after all, but where was the spice? A good value and a decent lunch... More

I work near this restaurant and it is my go-to place for a quick lunch. I usually grab my burrito to go and it rarely takes more than a couple of minutes from when I walked in to when I'm walking out. I usually go for the specials on the wall, but if nothing suits my fancy, I'll opt for... More

Small place with great ethic food. The ox tail was delicious and came with rice and salad. The place can get quite hot as the a/c doesn't work all the time. Recommend grabbing a table outside.

Man at the counter was kind, and my food came within five minutes. It was a little loud inside with music playing, so you may want to sit outside or take it to go if you want to have a conversation. I had a pumpkin rice and jerk chicken wrap that was good. Nothing to write home about, but good... More

I've been going to Federal Spice for years and always pleased by the delicious, fresh and healthy choices with a Caribbean twist, and cheerful service; even when I dash in at the end of a long day the owner is eager to oblige.

They have a nice little place on the back side of a parking garage. VERY fast service, and priced right at around $7 for a very large wrap with warm tortilla chips included. I used to go almost weekly when I worked across the street. Recommended!

Federal Spice has been around for years and while in Portland to see a movie, my wife and I decided to stop for lunch. I forgot how good this place was. We both had wraps, mine being the Ginger Lemongrass Rice & Asian Slaw- With Thai Red Curry & Tofu, and Lisa's was a falafel wrap. Both were excellent as... More

We visited FS because we had an MBPN Evergreen Member card for a 2 for price of 1 deal. Had no idea what the cuisine was. The menu has lots of wraps and salads, but also, to our surprise, Jamaican entrees! I took a leap for me and ordered the Curry Goat! My partner ordered the Jerk Chicken. We started... More

This place has lots of the pieces of a great place to eat - some unusual options, a nice concept, authenticity. However, the formula has become a little stale, as mentioned in other reviews. It just needs to be updated a bit.
