I am gluten-sensitive so I need to limit wheat as much as I can. This means most sandwich shops are not on my go-to list. Clan MacLaren's is happy to change your bread to gluten-free. I've been in a few times now and I am always greeted with big smiles. I feel very welcomed as if they were truly happy... More

I try to stop in once a week while in town for work. The sandwiches are TOP NOTCH. If a sub, rolls are excellent and lightly grilled. If a traditional sandwich, the bread is fresh. All ingredients are excellent and no matter which of the young ladies are preparing your food, the consistency is always there. Finest sandwich shop in... More

We ordered chili and a ruben. The chili was watery like soup and not the consistency of a real chili. The ruben sat in the pickle juice enough that the bottom of the sandwich became wet.

A pleasant restaurant, casual seating. Order at the counter and delivered to your table. In the heart of Rockland, a great place to sit and enjoy a healthy lunch while watching other shoppers go by. Don't miss the chance to add (a probably less healthy) cookie to your meal! We had the coconut almond macaroons; delicious! As were the salads... More

Great soups and sandwiches. My favorite is the Owls Head Salad. We had such awful meals in downtown Rocklnd but this place won us over.

If you're looking for something more than delicious sandwiches and soup this might not be the place for you, but honey and I really enjoyed the food and friendly atmosphere. Don't know why we hadn't visited this little gem before.

We ate a lobster roll every day during our trip to Maine. This was the best one! The bread was wonderful and the lobster was warm. Served with chips and a pickle it was perfect!

Stopped in w/ my son on 9/21/14 on a recommendation of the pastrami reuben. We had the reuben & a bowl of clam chowder. Both were very good. Will definitely go back again.

Stopped on our way through to Bar Harbor, my husband had the Eric MacLaren made extra spicy and loved it. I had the Lowland Cove panini and loved it as well. Very cute restaurant with good food at good prices.

About 30 minutes before closing, we went in to see if we could get soup to take out for dinner. The owner and two staff members were more than willing to put the mulagatawny in containers for us. And this was done with warm smiles and some great friendly conversation. By the way, the soup was excellent. We'll be back... More
