I had lunch here a few days ago- Wow! This is an old general store with all of the ambiance of the 1940s- The menu is typical, fairly priced and good. The people couldn't be friendlier. I loved it!

The people are friendly, employees cheerful and happy to answer questions, make changes to an order if required. Good selection of eat and drinks! You can even set at tables and nibble or chat early morning or early evening. Locals are always running in and out, most are approachable and friendly. Chowders and pizzas are supposed to be great. Chowder... More

There is nothing cookie-cutter about The Keag. The building is over 190 years old, and the great people, food and store offer a chance to have an experience that is almost impossible to find: the real thing. Where else will you find the best crab sandwiches, to eat as you sit at one of the three tables, always covered with... More

This is small country convenience store with a small grocery selection, some deli items, beer, wine etc. The menu is fairly typical for the area with fried seafood sandwiches burgers pizza. It is well known for lobster rolls. It can be a busy place at lunch so try to be there by 11:30. There is limited seating however there is... More

The Keag store is a handy little place that serves very good sandwiches, including a very good lobster roll. If you are running low on cash, it has a cash machine.

Keag Store's take-out menu is extensive and everything we tried was great. Eat-in is nothing fancy but very pleasant. It was a good store to have nearby while we were in South Thomaston.

Convenient, great soups, sandwiches, etc in a quaint Maine village. This is the real-deal, not some contrived replica. This place is outta the way, & is for benefit/pleasure of the locals. A real hoot to eat in/out + provisions/grocery's too.

As a resident of South Thomaston, the 'Keag Store is not only convenient, but a gosh darn quality place to shop for quality eats AND the essentials. Best lobster roll in Knox County, hands down! Also, when I run out of wine and cigarettes, which seems to be every 6 hours or so, I can buy them here instead of... More

Stopped by the Keag for sandwiches before we headed out for a picnic along the shore. Service was slow BUT it was lunchtime. People were walking out of there with bags of amazing food. The tables were full. The staff were great and chatter with the locals made the wait easy. This is why we go to Maine. Laid back... More
