We got lunch at Beals Lobster Pier in Southwest Harbor. We each had a classic lobster roll (cold with a bit of mayo served in a hot dog roll) with wine (for my wife) and beer for me. The price varies and will be different when you go in since the food service is now closed for the season. Ours... More

I know: Maine is all about Lobster. And yes, you get as much lobster as you want at Beal's Lobster Pier. Do I think it could be improved? Absolutely! We met many more casual lobster places that offered a better service at a better price and location. Verdict: Beal's Lobster Pier is living on it's historic fame.

Very reasonably priced fresh lobster in a no frills atmosphere. Order at the counter, pick up at the window and eat on benches (enclosed, under roof) on the pier. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Nice views of the harbor from the pier. Two 1 1/2 lobsters dinners, each with an ear of corn, biscuit, coleslaw and drinks for about $45.... More

Neat classic Maine lobster shack. Lobsters were cooked to perfection and sides were very good. Also, fantastic bargain!

If you want fresh, off the boat Lobster prepared and eaten literally on the dock, then Beals's is for you. After ordering your pound and a half live lobser, it goes into the boiler while you pay and wait on a picnic table out on the dock. In short order, you are eating some of the best lobster you have... My wife and I ate here while visiting the sea wall and Acadia National Park in October. It turns our we visited them on their last day open for business for the season. I've got to admit that we're on the frugal side and spending lots of $ for a meal wasn't sitting well with either of us, but I... More

The food was amazing! I would say this place was my favorite. My husband and I each ordered a lobster roll. What I like about this place is there are 3 different lobster rolls you can order. I like mine warm with butter and my husband likes his cold with a little mayo. The people were really nice too. There... More

Great for families or couples. The menu makes it hard to choose between steamed whole lobster or other items. Also, a great selection of beer and wine. You can enjoy watching the working docks from cover or in the open. A must if you're in the area and want to immerse yourself if only briefly into the world of lobster.... More

Another standard lobster pound but worth the trip. You order at the counter, see your live lobster weighed and put in a bag for its trip to the pot, find a table and your meal is brought out on a tray. Enjoy the food and the sights of an active pier with lobster boats departing and arriving.

Eat, drink and be messy. A visit to Beal's Lobster Pier is always a highlight - a restaurant that's on the water, with an atmosphere that's down to earth. At our working lobster pier in Southwest Harbor, Maine, you and your family will have a blast watching the boasts coming in and the lobstermen unloading their fresh catch. Hear the creak of rope on the moorings. Catch the scent of saltwater on the breeze and enjoy the waterfront view while chowing down on the freshest lobster you can eat. (Don't worry, the napkins are on us!)
