Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went for dinner. The food and the service were both excellent. Along with the standard menu, there was a nice selection of specials. Te food we had was really good and looking at the food going to other tables - everyone seemed impressed.

We came as a family of 12 for a celebratory New Year lunch and were not disappointed. We all had a version of their legendary Sunday roast, and for those with a hearty appetite a couple of their sharing platters where you get a selection...of different roast meats and plenty of trimmings. We were not disappointed. Great food and great value. Lucky to have this place as our local.More

Lovely pub with friendly, helpful staff and delicious food. Had a wonderful, tasty main and pudding with a friend. Warm, comfortable and relaxed place where we could chat and catch up. We will definitely be returning.

A very nice country pub. After a lovely country walk, we had a delicious lunch with friendly and attentive service. It was quiet but the Yew Tree deserves to be busy all the time!

I was very fortunate to be able to stay at the Yew Tree on business for three nights. My room was stylish and comfortable and Joy and her staff were super kind and welcoming. Every evening croissants or pain au chocolat appeared in my room,...along with yoghurt, fruit, muesli, milk and juice. The food in the restaurant was exceptionally good: inventive and delicious. I highly recommend a stay at the Yew Tree!More

Popped in for a Sunday family lunch. Rebellion beer was very good. Had the Roast Beef which was nice as was the nut roast. Service was a bit slow and parking is busy had to park up the hill.

We went on Saturday for dinner and the service from a young lad called Sam was impeccable. He was very polite, courteous and attentive. The best service we've had in years. The food was absolutely delicious 😋 too. Top class. The toilets were spotless, infact...the whole place was very clean. All the staff worked so hard, it was boiling hot and packed outside but they all remained chipper. The only recommendations we have were to allow the staff to be able to wear cooler clothes, no shorts or dresses but only black top and black jeans...really? Its boiling!! Its the wonderful service that counts, who cares what you wear anymore, just wear a smile. Definitely going back.More

We have recently moved to the area and the Yew Tree has quickly become a firm favorite. The food never disappoints and we are diligently working our way through the menu. The staff are so welcoming and they always go the extra mile to make...your visit a great one. We have had lunch outside with a large group of hikers, lunch with young children and romantic dinners for two in the restaurant and all experiences have been wonderful. Highly recommended.More

Were you reviewing the Yew Tree Frieth? I only ask as we make our starters and don't offer veal on our menu. Like all pubs we really appreciate the support of the local community. This is particularly important in the current economic climate. I hope...More

Thanks to all the team at the Yew Tree, Frieth for a warm welcome and a wonderful lunch yesterday - and especially for your patience with our lively and curious Pointer who took her time to settle in!! We loved our cosy fireside table and...the food was exceptional. It felt like a treat and with very reasonable prices. We drove out from London to go walking before our visit. All well worth the journey - have already recommended to friends and we hope to be back one day (if you’ll have us!)More
