My colleagues and I stopped by for what we thought would be a quick lunch and take advantage of the warm weather by eating outside. Unfortunately so did a lot of other people and the food prep was really slow. Took us about 45 minutes waiting in line to order and then to pick up our food. There were only... More

I picked up a carry out order tonight and the staff were extremely rude. Never did they say thank you or ever spoke to me. The cook pushed my bag throw the window with an ignorant force. This behavior will not be tolerated be me and therefore, I won't be back! Sorry Charcoal Deli but you just lost a long... More

Usually I really enjoy this place. But last weekend, I tried their corned beef sandwich--reuben sandwich. The corned beef tasted like no corned beef I had ever had. It tasted like plain old beef--no seasoning or aging or any kind. Really disappointing. They serve the reuben with sauerkraut and grilled. I asked for the sauerkraut to be substituted, and instead... While most people come here for the pit beef, the pit turkey is amazing too. It has such good flavor I don't like to cover it with any sauce. The sandwich plus boardwalk fries with vinegar and a lemonade make the most amazing lunch! Yum!!

Decor. Picnic benches in a parking lot. Service. It's up to you! Order at the window and serve your friends. Really it's pure take out / window service. Cleanliness. Looks clean from the window. They keep the outside very clean (but you are sitting in a parking lot). Food. We had no idea what pit beef was but a local... More

Charcoal Deli serves great pit beef and pit turkey. Has been in the same location for 20+ years. Stick to the beef.

Yes, this place is always up there with Chaps as Baltimore's best pit beef sandwich. And, it's indeed an excellent sandwich. However, when I rolled-up, I finally got to see how and where they cook their meat. This is not “electric barbecue” you see so often in cities or in places like Virginia where barbecue is a “dirty word”. They... More

The food here is really good and reasonably priced. My one gripe that caused me to only give 4 stars it that I am injured and use a walker and the location is very hard to navigate with no ramps.

Delicious pit beef - sliced to order, so it comes steaming hot. Beef is lean and good quality. Fries are hot and delicious. You can take your order to go, or you can eat outside at the picnic tables. You order at the window - there is no indoor seating.

The roast beef sandwiches are awesome. Get the jumbo cooked to your liking and add a side of hot french fries. Yum!
