My wife and I go to the Tomato Palace often for two main reasons. One: We live two minutes away by car, or 10 minutes away if we walk as we live just above the lake, and Two: The food and service at the Tomato Palace is awesome. We love this place!

The Tomato Palace is really "Clydes"! They are next door to each other, share the same restrooms!, the same management (?), and when you pay your check, the receipt says "Clydes" That being said, the food is standard good - nothing bad, and some dishes close to terrific. One weird example was a seafood pasta dish (ordered with linguine). It... More

Walking into this new (to me) restaurant with a friend who highly recommended The Tomato Palace, we were first greeted warmly at the door by a gentleman who ushered us to our table, and then we met Amari, our server, who was also five-star quality. The food was over-the-top. I had the seafood linguine, and it was perfect, fresh, and... More

I arrived at 12:07PM for a lunch meeting with an old friend. My friend was already seated and I joined her in the booth. Within a couple of minutes our server greeted us and asked if we would like to place a drink order. We ordered a bottle of wine. I explained that we wanted a leisurely lunch because as... More

Friendly and cheerful. Food not wonderful, low average, fresh out of the can. Although in all honesty (there should be a 3.5 on the scale) I can't rate it a 4, so 3 it is. Properly fine to take the kids. However the food is straight out of the frozen dinner section of your local supermarket. However, not a total... More

My wife and I stopped in to the Tomato Palace before the Trick or Treaters started coming around on Halloween around 4pm. The place is quiet then and service is usually very good. We started by ordering a $10 bottle of Villa Pozzi, a Merlot from Italy, and an order of Bruschetta. Both were very good. I ordered an order... More

We were in the area and decided to stop into the Tomato Palace for a light dinner. The restaurant was not busy, so it was very quiet which we like. Yancy, our server, came over right away and greeted us. We decided on one of their $10.00 bottle of wines to start – a Pinot Grigio from Sicily called Villa... More

A really unexpected find. At first glance it looks nothing special, maybe a place to bring the kids. But go deeper. Every meal is cooked to order as is every pizza into the wood fired oven. Consider every meal a palette that if you suggest adding or asking for an extra something they are happy to do it. I am... More

Outdoor dining beneath the vine-covered roof at the edge of the mirrored lake...beautiful and romantic. For unobstructed view, request table on outer edge. Cuisine is Italian preceded by fresh garden salads and warm bread for dipping in cheese-enhanced olive oil...delicious...especially with a small glass of wine! Perfect for families, friends and lovers as music from nearby venues often drifts softly... More

Love the seating outside, inside is cheery; food is the most affordable on the lake with great selections. It's a go-to place. Service can be mixed.

Description
The Tomato Palace, opened in 1993, is the family-style Italian restaurant adjacent to Clyde's of Columbia on Lake Kittamaqundi. The popular menu is affordably priced and includes pizza, pasta dishes and salads. The atmosphere is casual and fun, with colorful graphics enlivening the walls and menus. Seating is ample for families; and the whimsical tomato chairs by furniture maker Peter Danko are always a favorite. In warm weather there are 50 seats beneath the arbor for outdoor dining by the lake
