Charming hosts. Good authentic French food. Lovely warm atmosphere especially as it was raining outside.

We did not know ahead of time what kind of a big treat we would get and run into entering this "petit" restaurant. We hiked the Morvan Mountains on foot and were glad to have found, at last, a promising "food place" - but it...turned out to be a highlight of our trip, both foodwise, wine-wise, and the excellent taste was accompanied by a most hospitable cook himself and his charming wife explaining the wonderful dishes and the desserts. Through the so positive network with the people in the tiny town, we also got the best overnight place we could have looked for. Thank you, it was wonderful! Claudia & Uli Clever from GermanyMore
Lovely tittle restaurant, good food, very friendly service in an unlikely, but beautiful location. Well worth investigating and booking in advance.
Very delicious. Apparently they have different menu's throughout the seasons, but the ones we took were really great, the wine was excellent, a various assortment of great cheese and delightful desserts. I took the apple crumble, one of the best I have ever tasted, and...yet I regretted it because my husband took the tradintional english sticky pudding, which tasted exquisite. We recommend this lovely restaurant with its cosy interior and great service with a smile.More
British owners host a small French restaurant. He cooks, she hosts the guests and prepares the deserts. 3 course menu for 28 euros choices of at least 3 dishes per course. Nice food, not the usual dishes but the cook thinks of new combis himself....Fish, meat or chicken as main course, all perfectly seasoned. Deserts are great, the choice is awesome. The inside of the restaurant is outdated, but cosy. The terrace is fine with picknick tables.More
We had a wonderful lunch today in the auberge de Glux-en-Glenne, as always. Thanks Jill and Chris! We'll be back next time that we are in France
If you like good food, great combinations than you should be in La Petite Auberge! Very friendly and nice owners who are happy to inform you about the local products. Well worth a visit! Cheers
We had a lovely lunch. The staff was very friendly and the food was excellent, we had a wide choice of dishes!
We've been here several times, and always want to go back. Great menu's, good wine, friendly staff....and the restaurant is very nice decorated. We also love the view from the restaurant. Next time when we come to the Morvan we'll book a table here!
An excellent place to stay and eat. Run by an exceptionally welcoming couple and great staff this restaurant had a varied and interesting menu that was both tasty and amazing value. Cannot recommend enough.
Ate here 4 times in a week because it was so good. The owners are really lovely and the staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Can’t fault it. Food excellent value and delicious. Ever-changing menu so we were never bored. Wine was top notch too. Real...hidden gem. 10/10 would recommend.More
Called in with friends for a meal - recommendation from our camping- Espace Vital, great food - nice to meet the owners Chris & Gill (English) the place was very well done and enjoyed having a drink in the bar.
Glad you passed a pleasant moment with us. We look forward to meeting you next time!
My husband and I visited this restaurant a number of times in October while on holiday in the region. The staff were excellent and the owners Jill and Chris were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. They are a lovely English couple, which...was helpful as our French is limited, but they speak fluent French too. The food was first class and they use local ingredients and everything is freshly cooked. The menu changes daily so there is always something new to try and the prices are extremely reasonable, a set €19.50 for a 3 course meal. You can even just pop in for a drink or a coffee in the bar. The views of the countryside are stunning from the restaurant and its terrace. They also have a little area selling local produce and hand made craft items. This restaurant is a little gem in a beautiful area.More
Thank you for your comments. We are really pleased that you have passed a 'bon moment chez nous'. We hope to see you again if you are in the region. Kindest regards Jill and Chris
Just had a very enjoyable, relaxed lunch at La Petite Auberge. Jill and Chris put effort, skill and imagination into the whole experience from the meal to the ambiance to the decor. Their reputation is growing and rightly so. Can't wait until our next visit.
So glad you passed a pleasant moment with us, looking forward to welcoming you both next time.
I've now been here seven or eight times, for lunch and for dinner, with friends and without, and can honestly say I've never found the slightest fault with anything. The ambience is delightful, the welcome is genuine, the food and service are great. It's run...- efficiently and warmly - by a delightful English couple who have obviously integrated brilliantly into the local area, and who serve fresh, good quality food, often sourced locally. They do specality nights occasionally, like a curry night or a fish & chips night, but don't be put off - there's nothing of the English pub meal about this place! The locals seem to like it a lot, as there are usually plenty of them in evidence - always a good sign. If you're anywhere near this area, I really would recommend La Petite Auberge.(Another reviewer said "if you're in the Morvan - and if not, why not?" and I'd agree with that! Gorgeous area.)More
Thank you for kind words and opinion. It is always a pleasure to see our customer return. We look forward to welcoming you the next time you are in the area.
