The sushi and sashimi are always fresh, and the atmosphere inviting. Pretty standard menu, a few specials and friendly staff.

Open late, best sushi in Damascus. They are nice and will do gluten free! Our favorite is California dynamite rolls!

This review is hard for me because this was only the second time in many years that I've been to a restaurant and ordered sushi. I relied upon my friends to guide me in ordering.
We ordered: Spicy Kani Salad, Sake (Salmon Sashimi), Boston Roll, California Roll, Spicy Tuna Crunch Roll & Chicken Teriyaki Roll. Having not eaten sushi very often, I don't have a yardstick to compare. I will say the meals were very tasty and everyone enjoyed having a little of everything.

Prior to this review their service and food was really great until my order that I placed on 5/28/21. Because there is a lack of English on their part, my order was misinterpreted and as a result I didn’t receive what I ordered. Mind you this could have been reasonably and easily resolved but as I was trying to explain it to the male owner he grew frustrated and hung up on me abruptly. Absolutely unacceptable. We have been supporting this restaurant almost every week for a year during the COVID so I was extremely disappointed with his reaction and treatment just because they messed up my order. Because of their inept ability to even try to communicate with me on a respectful and reasonable level we will no longer be patronizing services from this establishment.

Been here twice since Yoshya closed. This is now our favorite Japanese style restaurant. A small casual atmosphere with a surprisingly large and diverse menu means the emphasis is on the food - just what we like to see. I could eat two different meals here every day and all week and still have items to explore. Service was good, facility was clean, parking easy, not many customers for dinner at 5:30 PM weekdays, good food. Very pleased with this place and hope they can make it last.

Yes! This a small restaurant however their Poke Bowls are to die for. I'm husband and I stopped by on a whim on our way home. And after waiting awhile for our food (which was the only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars) the Poke Bowl was fresh and delicious. I looked at my beloved and said Yknow I can't believe I'm saying this but yes I would drive 2.5 just to have this Poke Bowl. If you are close to Gaithersburg or you are just going for drive please give these folks a try.

My daughter loves sushi, so we thought we’d try a new place. The sushi rolls were big and fresh. We also loved the shrimp fried rice. Their menu was huge. It was casual, nothing fancy, but the food was great and affordable too. It looked like they did a good carry out business as well.

My family and I love Tokyo Fire. Great food, beautifully presented, and excellent service. Try the box lunch or dinner combo to sample several different things. My husband loves the steak and shrimp hibachi and son loves the shrimp tempura. The sushi is excellent! They have a wide variety rolls. So far we've loved everything we tried! All meals are served with soup and salad too. The miso soup is good, but my favorite is the onion soup. Yum!

When you think of Damascus you don't necessarily think of Sushi. But this place blew us away and now we are regular customers visiting at least once a week. Great variety and taste. We have not been disappointed with anything we have ordered so far.

I tried this place on a whim, on Christmas Eve. It was the only place open in Damascus! I got carry-out, went home and snuggled up on the couch to eat. I was so pleased! I had two different rolls and each was flavorful and nicely made up. I went again last week for dinner with a friend. We ate in the restaurant and both enjoyed it enormously. I ordered rolls other than the ones I'd had a few weeks ago, and they were also very good. I could have eaten several servings of the large appetizer of Edamame! Tokyo Fire isn't a fancy place, but they serve a huge variety of dishes, it was neat as a pin, and every employee was so nice. They are eager to please. Try it!

Look, if you are a sushi snob and can't think of eating anything less than a $100 tuna roll of some sort, then pass on by. For the rest of us, this little place has it going on.
I won't lie, my fiancé and I come here a lot. We love the staff. We love the Shokunin here. Diligent and friendly best describes all the staff. I have celiac disease and therefore eat gluten free. The Shokunin is very careful to make the rolls without gluten ingredients and provide gluten free soy sauce.
Lastly, when we order takeout, very rarely is there a mistake and any mistake has been mitigated by the staff.
As far as the fish quality, I would say it is better than average. And really on the higher end of that.
So, if you are craving some sushi and you're in Damascus, stop on by!

Service is always good. I like their Sushi better than the other dishes, some have way too much onion in them. It is a great quiet place to eat.

We have been here many times, both to eat there and for take out. The sushi is very good and we also have enjoyed many of the hot entrees, such as the udon, teriyaki, and fried rice. The women who wait on the tables are very nice - not too hovering, but always there with a smile when you need something.
