A friend and I were biking on the 3 Notch bike trail. when we realized that we were near Bert's 50s diner we decided to go. Summer, our server was beyond awesome! We wanted the special (Cheeseburger sub and fries and dessert and drink!!! She suggested splitting the sub and splitting everything else. It was PERFECT for 2 ladies!!! Burger... More

I hadn't been to Bert's in approximately 8 years. When we arrived, instead of spacing out the patrons, we were all seated in a small section of the substantial diner. Our server was pleasant and helpful, but it took quite a while to have our food delivered and when we did receive it, it was just ok. My mushroom Swiss burger... More

You know those places that seemed to have existed for a long time that you forget that it is even there because it is just part of the landscape? until you get the craving for your childhood meatloaf? This is the place that calls me once a year when I cruise this area and it is close to lunch or... More

We went for lunch on Sunday. We had menu items, but not dessert, which gave us a good basis to rate the diner. My wife had a hamburger and french fries and was not impressed. I had a taco salad that was at least a notch below any other I've had before. I was convinced that the chef had no... More

Passed this locations several times in my travels and finally stopped. Bert's decorate definitely is representative of a 50's era dinner. For dinner I had the double cheeseburger w/fries and a strawberry malt. The food was excellent, very representative of burger and fries of that era...which means if you aren't into greasy burgers w/flavor don't bother stopping. The wait staff... More

Have lived in this area for few years and always wanted to stop. Bert's looks the part from the road. On trip back from Reagan International we stopped. Food was good, service was good, but and sadly there was a but, the place was dirty. Floors had not been mopped, our table was dirty and well it just looked overused.... More

Food is good, waitresses are so friendly, and the old jukebox with the oldies playin are just a great time for all. The ice cream and sundaes are out of this world!!!

Deserts are the ticket here. You may eat too if hungry but///save room for the mega-deserts. Service is Mechanicsville-friendly, warm, family-like. You won't do better hereabouts than Bert's.

I ordered a Chicago dog and obey french fries. The bread for the Chicago dog was clearly old, a day or two days old and simply fell apart. The french fries were overcooked and just obey sprinkled on the top, the table was dirty when I got here and had asked to have it cleaned. Place looks nice on the... More
