We were staying in lovely Oxford for several days. We ate in the Tavern which was cozy on a cool fall day. The first night our dinner was so good we went back a the second night. Our waitress Casey was very attentive, both nights! The crab soup and lobster soups were the best we've ever had. My husband had... More

We visited Robert Morris Inn on a Friday night while staying in Oxford. We ordered the cheeseburger and the sirloin steak dishes - both were edible but neither was overly impressive and the steak tasted more like something we would expect from a TGI Fridays. Twice baked potato was tasty and the fries with the burger were crispy and well-salted.... More

My husband and I had the opportunity of revisiting the restaurant at the Robert Morris Inn this month. As in the past it did not fail to impress. The atmosphere is lovely. The soups were wonderful and served nice and hot. The crabcakes, while different than I remember them, were very good as was the fish and chips. Staff was... More

We came by boat and paid $30 to tie up. We fully expected to be won over by the ambiance and delicious food at the Inn. The Inn smelled so musty that we chose to eat outside. The burgers we had for brunch were just o.k. Nothing at all seemed exceptional. Now that we can say that we have been... More

Victoria W We're not sure if you have the right place as we do not have docking and so no charge there. Outside dining is what guests come to us for and particularly on that Sunday as we have been enjoying some wonderful fall days. We hope you visit Oxford again. Regards Mark & Ian More

Excellent crab soup and service. A large crowd for lunch on this beautiful day, bicyclists, tourists, locals and a former cabinet member. Highly recommended!

The reviews spoke highly of The Robert Morris Inn and we booked through OPEN TABLE tonight for an early reservation. We had a very enthusiastic and informative waitress named Kirsten who couldn't do enough for us. When I told her that I was a vegetarian and wanted to know what options there were she immediately had some ideas but went... More

What a glorious fall day we enjoyed on Friday the 7th of October. Where else to soak in the sheer crispness, the hues of Autumn 2016 than Oxford Maryland? Strolling the lanes of this Chesapeake charmer is like living a magazine story on luxury travel. Park your car and just walk this town. To meet that appetite, choose Mark Salter's... More

They serve was very slow, thought she forget about us! The breakfast was okay, you needed to find your waitress to get another cup of coffee. We didn't stay at the Inn, we were at a Bed and Breakfast down the street.

We made reservations at the Robert Morris Inn's restaurant which accommodated our request for vegan meals. The dinner was creatively prepared, beautifully presented and stunningly delicious. It was one of the very best vegan meals we've had anywhere in the world in the past 20 years. The atmosphere, food quality and presentation is reminiscent of the best restaurants in Europe.... More

Once the home of Robert Morris who gained fame as "Financier of the Revolution". General and later President George Washington was a close friend and visited Robert Morris often. In more recent times author James Michener outlined his famous novel, Chesapeake here and fell in love with our renowned crab cakes. Now the Eastern Shore's most unique historic restaurant with rooms under celebrity Chef Proprietor, Mark Salter and Ian Fleming.Enter the Inn and step back 300 years: a pristine yet historic interior welcomes with timber beams, panelled walls and open fires in the cooler months. Through to Salter's Tavern featuring historic red brick walls and old slate floors, with magnificent fires in the cooler months and offering casual outside dining on our Terraces and Veranda during balmy warm summers. This is a truly historic Inn, cosy with a natural patina running through. Friendly, great cuisine and understated professional service.
