As our dinner friends commented, "Wow"! We overdosed on Oysters Rockefeller and Oyster Pot Pie (taking advantage of the seasonal comfort menu.) Topped with a delish dessert in front of a warm and inviting fireplace. Can't wait until the next special menu comes out!

Christmas 2016 was the third or fourth time that my wife and I have stayed at the Robert Morris Inn and our stay was every bit as good as in the past. The food on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day was excellent - presented beautifully and delicious. The staff as always were attentive and friendly. We would give a special... More

Dear pattersonpn Thank you for joining us at such a special time of year. Didn't stay here, just stopped in for lunch... Cream of Crab soup was very good, fish & chips were good as was the oyster po-boy. Cocktails were nicely poured. Service was more than adequate! It's off-season, it's probably better in high-season, but still good!!

Our family & friends had Thanksgiving dinner and was not disappointed . We ate in the bar/pub, good service, food was very good, better than other times we have eaten here over past Thanksgivings. Turkey was very moist and large plate of food.

Went here for thanksgiving and was very disappointed. Food was ok but this place is in poor condition and the wait staff was comical. A waiter at a ruby Tuesday knows that you clear before serving the next plate...our waitress was hadn't a clue. Toilet paper on floor of hallway and ceiling looked as if it were going to collapse.... Dear ejh25 Thank you for visiting our Inn & Tavern. Thanksgiving is our single busiest service of the year and much goes into the planning and execution to ensure great customer experiences. We are so sorry that we seem to have failed you on most levels, with perhaps little bar the food to redeem it. We certainly are not perfect... More

We had lunch last week at the Robert Morris while visiting the Eastern Shore. Beautiful location with food to match. Great meal, prompt pleasant service. Not to be missed if you are visiting the area

Dear pmo333 Thank you for visiting our Tavern, particularly during these quieter months. Our roaring fires do however, almost make winter worth while. We look forward to your return and wish you a Happy New Year. Mark & Ian More

We were staying in lovely Oxford for several days. We ate in the Tavern which was cozy on a cool fall day. The first night our dinner was so good we went back a the second night. Our waitress Casey was very attentive, both nights! The crab soup and lobster soups were the best we've ever had. My husband had... More

We visited Robert Morris Inn on a Friday night while staying in Oxford. We ordered the cheeseburger and the sirloin steak dishes - both were edible but neither was overly impressive and the steak tasted more like something we would expect from a TGI Fridays. Twice baked potato was tasty and the fries with the burger were crispy and well-salted.... More

My husband and I had the opportunity of revisiting the restaurant at the Robert Morris Inn this month. As in the past it did not fail to impress. The atmosphere is lovely. The soups were wonderful and served nice and hot. The crabcakes, while different than I remember them, were very good as was the fish and chips. Staff was... More

We came by boat and paid $30 to tie up. We fully expected to be won over by the ambiance and delicious food at the Inn. The Inn smelled so musty that we chose to eat outside. The burgers we had for brunch were just o.k. Nothing at all seemed exceptional. Now that we can say that we have been... More

Victoria W We're not sure if you have the right place as we do not have docking and so no charge there. Outside dining is what guests come to us for and particularly on that Sunday as we have been enjoying some wonderful fall days. We hope you visit Oxford again. Regards Mark & Ian More

Once the home of Robert Morris who gained fame as "Financier of the Revolution". General and later President George Washington was a close friend and visited Robert Morris often. In more recent times author James Michener outlined his famous novel, Chesapeake here and fell in love with our renowned crab cakes. Now the Eastern Shore's most unique historic restaurant with rooms under celebrity Chef Proprietor, Mark Salter and Ian Fleming.Enter the Inn and step back 300 years: a pristine yet historic interior welcomes with timber beams, panelled walls and open fires in the cooler months. Through to Salter's Tavern featuring historic red brick walls and old slate floors, with magnificent fires in the cooler months and offering casual outside dining on our Terraces and Veranda during balmy warm summers. This is a truly historic Inn, cosy with a natural patina running through. Friendly, great cuisine and understated professional service.
