Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This deli permanently shut down at the end of 2019 before the pandemic. Unfortunately, Tripadvisor will not delete the entry despite multiple reveiws and requests.

I will miss the great food from the Edmart Deli. My favorite was the turkey salad sandwich with a smear of chopped liver and onion on rye bread. So sorry that id just close up after many many years in our area. Thanks Shelly for...all the years.More

After a generation in Pikesville Edmart closed in December 2019. They lost their old world charm long ago and with no parking on a busy street, there was no hope among the plethora of new eateries around.

This place was not that anxious to wait on us. We ordered 2 corned beef sandwiches, and a pound of chopped liver. There was either 1 or 2 very small tables, othersise this place is only for carryout. The sandwiches were very small, and very...expensive. The food was just average. The chopped liver was ok, but VERY EXPENSIVE. They acted like they did not care if we shopped there or not. We will NOT be coming back. ! Who wants small amounts of food, for large amounts of money. totally not worth it.More

One can always get a good deli sandwich here. Most likely prepare with folks who know how to make a good sized sandwich. Owner is usually there and this has been locally owned for decades. Most people carry out, only room for about 4 people...to eat thereMore

We have been stopping here two or three times a year for several years.   It is about a 90 minute trip for us so we stock up with all the good stuff for ourselves and our neighbors.  We have had their deli pastrami sanwiches...for the trip home, and they are great. For us, what sets it apart is what arrives home with us, fantastic flavored (fatty) pastrami, delicious nova lox, pickled herring in sour cream and onions, kippered salmon, chopped liver, and smoked whitefish.   You can find some of these items in other stores but Edmart’s quality and taste is orders of magnitude greater than any other supplier.   The trip is worthwile, the prices may be a little high but you are getting the best quality food to enjoy.  Shelly and the rest of the staff are super so stop in for great conversation and leave with great food.More

Entering Edmart is like entering something from my past 50 years ago! A small deli packed with items not seen anymore. Friendly staff made it feel like I'd been a customer forever even though it was my first visit. Didn't get a chance to try...any deli sandwiches but was really impressed with the assortment of sugar-free cakes and cookies. If you want to step into the past, pay a visit to Edmart Deli in Pikesville.More

Great especially for take-out. Loved their homemade potato salad (of 48 delis my friends and I have visited over the past 8 years, Edmart had one of the top two potato salads), and brisket sandwich.

I visited this Deli in hopes of finding something in your home that was close to New York City. When I entered the store it was very old inside the menu was sparsely listed on the wall but there were no prices. I ordered a...pastrami sandwich and it chopped liver sandwich. The sandwiches were quite small and fit into a tiny Square carry out container very basic bread and meat and that was it. My husband and my mother said the sandwiches were great but extremely small. My bill came to $34 I ordered two sandwiches and 12 kosher pickles it was a very high price to pay for a very limited amount of food. I was expecting to pay 12 to $14 a sandwich but expecting a sandwich that would have fed my husband to lunches similar to what we would have received if we were in a New York Deli. VERY disappointingMore

This is a great tradition Jewish deli and sandwich shop. The best part of the individual and caring attitudes of the owner and people who work there. You fell cared for after your visit.

Owners & staff very attentive with friendly, old fashion "stop & chat a while", true NYC social hospitality (visited during lunch, on a Tuesday). Nova and Belly Lox bagel sandwiches are hefty, massive (at least 3" tall) with superb flavor; corned beef & pastrami also...outstanding! The Jewish potato salad had excellent flavor & creaminess and the knish also a very generous. A little bit of sticker shock, but worth EVERY penny, it was all very filling! Look forward to the next visit.More

This is the real deal. The deli itself is small and rather modest but the food is absolutely fantastic. Incredible! Chopped liver, brisket, etc all home made. The owners are on the premises and are absolutely delightful people and made me feel like I was...in their home. My daughter had a soccer tryout nearby and they wished her the best of luck and gave her a snack to help get ready. In today's day and age there are barely any places like this left. A true gem. This was our first time and I promise you will be back!More

Phenomenal chopped liver and salads. Pastrami and corned beef flavorful but a bit dry. Nice sandwich deal for 9.99 with chips and drink. Don't expect a mile high pile of meat at this price. Lots of good frozen entrees to go like stuffed cabbage and...vegetable soup. Nice owners. Not inexpensive.More
