We went for dinner. You eat with your hands at a high or low table. The food and service was good. Looks like a place locals eat.

Great service, good food and we would recommend the restaurant for residents and visitors alike. Priced a little high.

This place is nice, but there are many better Ethiopian restaurants in Silver Spring and there are certainly ones that are cheaper, given you more food, or whose food is generally better. This place has some delicious Ethiopian honeywine though!

Excellent value lunch menu with traditional Ethiopian dishes and some non-traditional quasi-Ethiopian sandwiches. Dinner menu, on the other hand, seemed somewhat overpriced.

We come here often (usually with a $11 for $20 Groupon). It's a nice atmosphere with traditional decorations and decorative furniture. The food comes fast and is pretty good. The portions are nice sized although I usually manage to eat up all the injera (ethiopian bread, it's addictive). I usually go vegetarian here, but the few times I've gotten meat... More

Not sure what the other complaints about the service experienced, but we went on a busy Saturday night with two small children and the service was very attentive--food was excellent, on par with some of the better Ethiopian in the area. It felt fresher and even healthier than many (where the stews feel stale and flat) the flavors were bright... More

We've been to this restaurant a number of times, and the food is always great - one of the best in the area. The service, less so. The last two times we've been there the service has been glacial. The server is friendly enough, just not very attentive. No checking to let us know that the food is taking a... More

East African food can be a challenge for the American palate lacking asbestos covering or a fire extinguisher. Addis Ababa does a great job of serving authentic Ethiopian cuisine without offending the ex-pats who frequent the place. There's no question that if you see folks for the source country of the restaurant's food, you;re in a good place. Addis Ababa... More

My husband and I recently visited Addis Ababa on our weekend trip. The way that you serve yourself here is different. They serve big flat bread on a tray with different types of stews on it. plus your own personal supply of flat breads that you use to grab your food.. no silverware. You pretty much wrapped your food, If... More

I've been here meant times including one time when I brought a friend who had spent part of her life in Ethiopia. She loved it and said it was the real deal. I've never left not fully enjoying my meal. It never looks like there is seating available, but I've never had to wait more then maybe 5 mins for... More
