I've been to this restaurant a couple of times. Once for a wedding reception and another time for dinner with colleagues. It is a wonderful. We sat in The Wine Cellar for the dinner. The food is really, really good. I had the crabcake when I went for dinner. Highly recommend this restaurants for special occasions. It is kind of... More

Mrs K's took good care of our group of 16. We were seated in the basement(near the buffet table) which suited us well for going back multiple times and for the amount of noise we made. The food was good with the pork tenderloin receiving high praise from the men in our group. The selection of deserts was my favorite... More

Very disappointed today. Our reservations were for 11:00 am so there was no excuse for the food not to be hot. I can sum it up with the words "no taste, and very dry meal" Won't be returning.

A throwback to earlier times, with an up-to-date menu! Historic toll house built in the 1800s, converted into a country restaurant in 1930. We really enjoyed the historic feel, and the staff were exceptionally welcoming. The modest menu provides a lot of great choices. Our table opted for a Fried Oyster appetizer, Maryland Crab Soup (just about he best we've... More

We went there for lunch as a family with friends after my daughter's high school graduation. We sat on a large wooden table in the basement of this old house which is quaint and mysterious. I wandered around trying to find my way back to my table from the bathroom, as there are so many twists and turns, with stairways seemingly... More

We stopped here on the way to downtown Silver Spring for lunch based on the recommendation of a friend. Had a lovely lunch overlooking very pretty gardens. I had a seared tuna salad and my husband had a beautiful maryland crab cake with hand cut fries. Nice wine list, too!

I have been traveling to Washington DC for over 40 years to visit a relative who is now in his 90's. This region is an oasis for dining and Mrs K's never disappoints. Their menu offers in-season fruits and vegetables with each entree being freshly prepared. As a historic property, Mrs K's is an experience not to be missed. We... More

We happened on Mrs. K's Toll House on our way to Williamsburg. We were looking for a place to stop for lunch and found this restaurant. Delicious food. Attentive wait staff. Christian was very professional. Interesting decor. Antiques with a colonial flair. Parking was a bit limited, unless there was a parking lot we weren't aware of. Would definitely return... More

Mr.s K's Toll House seems venerable, that is to say it has been in service for a long time. Visually pleasing, from the exterior, one would envision dowagers dining on crustless cucumber sandwiches while sipping tea. Big mistake on my part. The selection is sufficiently broad, but not overly - this is a good thing. Everything I've tried has been... More
