It's own description and other reviewers get it right. This simple and stylish eatery makes you wish more restaurants used candlelight to light tables from above. The Chef/Owner and skilled staff makes you wish other restaurants had his their enthusiasm for service and satisfying meals. We enjoyed a Prix Fixe dinner there and then the breakfast included in the overnight... More

We were only able to get an 8 PM reservation - late for us. But we enjoyed a lovely multi course Thanksgiving dinner. And it was all by candlelight as there is no electricity in the dining rooms. Quite a lovely ambiance. We had a lovely bottle of wine from a very expansive wine list. The only compliant I have... More

The reviews say it all.... carefully restored inn, lovely rural village, the dining area only lit by candles and the fireplace, first-rate service and last but not least tantalizing food to all the senses. It doesn't get any better than this.

You enter a beautifully restored 1760 building. There is a full bar straight back, the dining areas are in the front of the building on either side. The first thing you will notice there are no electric lights in the dining areas. They are totally lit by candles and chandeliers. It is a little strange at first, but you really... More

This restaurant is connected to the Inn where we were staying, but the restaurant is open to the public. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and if you are in the area it is worth the trip. A bit pricey but very, very good.

The evening we spent there was a exceptional but the real trick was how they made it seem as if this is way things should be. Warm but professional service. The sommelier was thoughtful but concise in his reply to our queries. We sat on the patio with the screen keeping out the bugs but enjoying the lovely weather and... More

My wife and I immensely enjoyed our visit and stay at the Old Inn on the Green. It is a very quaint and rustic inn and is adorned in a very appropriate manner. It is basic in its appearance yet possesses an elegant ambiance. We stayed in the adjoining Thayer House and had a very nice room (205) which was... More

I went to this property just to have diner and was an incredible experience. The quality of the food and service is outstanding and the ambiance is amazing. The property dining area is illuminated just with candles, this creates a very special experience. Is definitive a place that I would recommend and I expect to return to stay in the... More

We recently went to this restaurant and I must say the food was beautifully presented but it did not knock it out of the ballpark, so to speak. The restaurant offers prix fixe. If you go, go on a night other than a Saturday when the prices are dramatically different. Still the experience there is worth repeating. The waitstaff were... More
