The chowder, specials and cocktails are amazing! The interior is somewhat dated but is slowly being renovated and looking good! Best cocktails in the area!

We stopped here first to check in for our lunch at the Newburyport Lighthouse (which we have reviewed separately). We decided to sit at the bar and have a drink before heading up to the top of the lighthouse which was two doors down. The view out to the river is spectacular. We were greeted by friendly, engaging staff. Jesse... More
Always good food and consistent service. Chowder is top notch, get it in a bread bowl. Large dining area with separate rooms for functions or business gatherings. Like that it's broken up, it's not one giant room with tons of tables thrown in. Bar is old school wood bar, love that! Drinks are reasonable.
Starboard Galley is a fine establishment offering up classic American and New England fare. The view from the restaurant and outside deck is unbeatable in the summer (waterfront). The food is by far the most consistent in Newburyport and the staff is very friendly. If seafood if what you are looking for, no place better(steak also amazing). Staff is friendly... More
It is difficult to actually find a restaurant that is warm in the winter but this is one. My wife had a salad with shrimp. It was a large serving and she loved it. I had a lobster roll and French fries. There were nice large chunks of lobster and it was excellent. The service was prompt and courteous. We... More
I love the fisherman's stew at this solid restaurant that's near, but not on, Newburyport Harbor. It broils, bakes and fries a good range of seafood; the menu has no surprises; the food is well prepared but short of fancy, and the service is friendly but less than polished. It's an honest place and I value that. In the summer... More
We had not been in here for about 10 years. Tried it on a hunch, the service was lacking had to wait for everything. The food was good. Did not have to hear about servers bike accident.
Always a favorite to get double lobster rolls ..food is very good and fresh, portions adequate to generous..very plain surroundings but clean and attentive service.priced to keep you coming back along with the quality of the food
If you want to see Boats on the Merrimack River while you eat Dinner, this is probably the place, which is next to the where the US Coast Guard started . Our waitress helped us with Lunch selections, so that we had a good experience despite the gloomy weather and no Traffic on the River .
