Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Ordered 4 dishes for take out over the phone. The Sweet and Sour Chicken and the Chicken Lo Mein were extremely overcooked and the chicken was tougher than wood. Next day around lunch time (the place was empty) my wife went to the restaurant to...report on the 2 bad dishes and asked for a replacement. The lady at the front cash register responded rudely to my request. When I asked to speak to a manager, a man showed up and continued to respond in a rude fashion. When I expressed my disappointment at their response, they responded by saying "We're all rude here". I walked out and couldn't believe what I'd heard from a manager and its staff. For a food service business to treat the public in such manner they deserve to close their business or fail.More

The food was good, but the dining room was closed. We waited about 15 minutes. I wish the dining room was open. Next time we will call ahead.

I guess the rumors that the people are rude and nasty is true. I was in the area and ordered from them before going home 45 min away. The girl behind the counter ordered not what I said something different. Didn’t think about it until...I opened it up and saw not lobster sauce plain but sone crazy dish with shrimp. I called right away and they told me I had to bring it back . They were nasty and basically said roughy fir you. Explained I was allergic to shellfish and also driving 45 min back was crazy. So I am out basically $25 and these people are trrrible! Food not that good either.More

do you remember when the competition put out the word that this place was going to close up. Then that did not work so they put out the word that it was going to sell in a few days. The retstaurant had to put out...a sign saying all these things are not true. Now the are saying that the place is refusing to seat people in wheelchairs and do not want Black people inside their place. I have been going here for years. I have had people with me who were in wheelchairs and never had a problem. I have gone in with friends who are black and never had a problem and have seen other black families who have been there when I arrived and they did not seem to have a problem. Is this the same group of people who have a reason to try to take business away from these people. Now the ribs here are the best I have ever had. After a funeral of a family member we had a lunchen here with about 30 people and it was handled just so well. The staff were really nice and friendly and they made sure eveyone was having a nice meal. It is also there is an anti asian thing going around the area that is a really bad thing. So ignore what you have been told and go try for yourself. Be honest that this place has won many awards for the quality of the food and the type of service people get here. We love the food, the owners and the staff are first rate. This is a true gem of a place and should be supported.More

I understand how difficult it is for restaurants right now during pandemic, but jeez, Chinatown is not handling it well. When I got there to pick up take out, one of the servers was standing outside the entrance door smoking (I don't care that he...smokes, but go behind the building for crying out loud). Upon entering no one said hello, but two people yelled "Phone Number?" - I didn't know who to answer. Then my order was basically thrown into my arms. Then as I was leaving, the guy smoking came inside and just went behind the tables they have set up for take-out and started waiting on customers - didn't wash his hands - YUCK! At this point, I thought whatever - I'll go home and enjoy my meal. It was edible but not worth $35! Peking dumplings fell apart and the dough was chewy/gooey, and no ginger sauce given. Hot and Sour soup was hot by temperature only and had no spice. I got the Yu Hsiang Pork - a spicy dish. It actually tasted sweet, almost like the base was duck sauce, not spicy at all. Too bad Chinatown. Probably you don't care (you certainly seem like you don't), but I only give one chance in a case like this. I won't go again, This is a time that you should be working even harder to stay afloat so that when COVID-19 is not an issue any longer, you still have your loyal customers, but not me.More

Years ago this was a " go to" restaurant for Chinese / American food. There is one " positive", that being that the food seems " fresh". The result is, however, that the sauces are bland and tasteless. Their once semi-famous spare ribs lack any...possible appeal. Once you get past this you have to come to the reality of ridiculously high prices. Lastly, we mistakenly ordered "take out" within the last week. Would have been nice to have been greeted with a smile and upon leaving a " thank you". I think these people think they are doing us a favor. Find another place !!More

So I was in store to pick up an order with a friend recently and I saw the most disgusting and illegal behavior from guy upfront who refused to seat a man in a wheelchair and an black family saying and I quote "We don't...serve your kind here" like this behavior was even allowed legally in the US I hope someone deports that racist bigot back to China or to prison he is one of the rudest, most racist horrible person I have ever met. I have come here for years it used to be very good service and quality and quantity, but new owner has ruined this and does not even follow the laws about refusing service to disabled or based on race which is beyond illegal in the United States. The new owner should honestly be arrested and imprisoned for continued racists and anti disabled criminal behavior.More

As much as I would hate to give any restaurant a negative review during CV-19, unfortunately, it is absolutely warranted. I’ve ordered from here several times before. Most recently two weeks ago via Door Dash. The food was so good, I decided to order again...for an easy Sunday family meal. However, the experience I had today with this order was so disappointing. I can confidently say I will NEVER order from here again. I ordered two combination plates with a side order of Crab Rangoon in one and an Egg Roll in the other. If the platters being smashed weren’t enough (I picked up this order at the restaurant, not delivery). Upon opening them, I was surprised to see the Crab Rangoons smushed on top of a moist Lo Mien and the Egg Roll swimming in a pool of sauce. Again, this is not the first time I’ve ordered here, and thought perhaps they were busy and the person who plated the food forgot to place the Crab Rangoons at least in separate container. Naturally, I called the restaurant to share the feedback. I had no intentions of going back to pick up another order, nor did I expect a full refund. But, what I did expect was for there to be decent customer service and if nothing else an apology for how the food was put together. What was most alarming was the level of arrogance, rudeness, and unprofessionalism, I was met with by no else but the “owner” of the restaurant. To be clear, I did not begin the conversation in a berating tone. The “owner” after I stated how my food was received simply replied, “and so what? You ordered a combo plate. There is nothing I can do for that.” Naturally, I asked him as an owner of an Asian restaurant, is it common that Crab Rangoons and Egg Rolls be served soggy? To which of course, he did not answer directly, but rather proclaimed that “we have been in business for 22 years!” Unbelievably stunned at his response. I proceeded to remind him of the importance of customer service and what it would mean if he did not have any customers/patrons to provide service to. I sympathize with any small business (owner) in this day and age. But with an “owner” treating any customer this way, he cannot possibly, truly care about his business or its’ success...More

I just came from there and couldn’t believe how badly I was treated. Whole restaurant is a take out square and my friend who called the order said ask for Kevin! When I went there solo and a woman at that I got screamed at...by some manager because I didn’t know the last four numbers of my friends phone number. He screamed and said we’ve been doing business like this for years!(asking last four of phone number) it’s my first time there. He yelled and yelled until I said please stop screaming as I was told to ask for Kevin’s ( name). I told him I could tell him what we ordered and he yelled you must follow rules and regulations! I was so appalled. They are the rudest people who are fake to their customers. So what if they say hi and bye..they all talk about you in Chinese while your there. Rudest place Ive ever been to. He finally listened when I described the order and had it in front of him. Paid the bill and on the reciept it said KEVIN and a phone number. All that yelling for what. Don’t care if their food s good after being treated like that. NEVER AGAINMore

Plenty of options in the area. Sichuan Gourmet, about 10 mins in Sharon has better quality food and more importantly, the folks who run it are friendly and well mannered. This place is rude and feels like they're doing you a favor when you walk...in. Owners are nasty and inflexible. Spend your $$ somewhere else instead.More

I have been going here for 20 years and while food is still decent the experience is not what it used to be. The host or man that works at the front is extremely rude - this place used to be friendly and this guy...is yelling and ordering customers around. The built a great bar area with tables and tvs with a sushi bar yet they stopped serving guests at the tables because there is no waiters or waitresses ever - I for one enjoy to watch TV when I am eating. The service has been extremely slow in the rest of the place it feels like they just don’t have the workers. I’d prefer to just order takeout as the man at the front needs an attitude check.More

My friends and I, who all used to frequent this restaurant, dined there last week after a year or so hiatus. It was not the Chinatown we had come to love over the years. Our dining experience got off on the wrong foot when we...were "greeted" by a surly hostess, who demanded we take a seat in the waiting area until the fifth and last member of our party arrived. Once seated and handed our menus, we knew the restaurant had undergone a major change. The once extensive selection of Cantonese, Hunan and Szechuan selections had been seriously narrowed down while sushi, sashimi, makimono, Japanese and other Asian dishes predominated. Nevertheless, we tried to stick with our old favorites and ordered what we could find that was left of them, including house lo mein, house fried rice, lobster sauce, sesame shrimp, pan seared shrimp (a menu item new to us that was listed as accompanied by asparagus but came with pea pods), pork tenderloin with ginger and scallion, and chicken with pea pods. Both the "house" rice and lo mein were anything but worthy of the title. The shrimp were half the size we had been accustomed to at Chinatown and so over cooked they arrived hard as rocks. Continuing our selection disappointment, the pieces of pork tenderloin were so tough it was impossible to believe they had been cut from a real pork tenderloin and were barely edible. Don't know what happened, but while the "old" Chinatown used to serve the freshest vegetables, the most tender cuts of meat and extra large, perfectly cooked shrimp, all in finger-licking delicious sauces, this new incarnation lacks all those attributes, and sad to say not one of our party of five ever plans to go back.More

Rude and insulting. My wife was first inside as I held the door for my son who uses a wheelchair. She wasn’t standing at the wait here sign. When he saw the wheelchair and my 2 year old grandson his attitude became almost hostile. He...wouldn’t seat us because he needed 30 feet to satisfy fire code. Nonsense. The tables are all close together like every other restaurant. He refused to apologize. They had been here before and seated, at same table we reserved. Didn’t matter the floor was dirty and sticky. Horrible experience, never to repeat.More
