My wife and I ate here in the tavern. Very comfortable revolutionary era setting with comfortable furniture and fireplace. The food was good, hot, with mixture of seasonal and traditional colonial choices. Service was friendly and efficient without lingering. We enjoyed our meal and will stop again when in the area.

A visit to Ebenezer Tavern located in the Publick House is an amazing experience in New England fine dining. When we arrived we found the the restaurant to be totally full. We were grateful that we had made reservations. The menu was filled with a variety of tempting appetizers and entrees. Every choice sounded delicious. I hadn't had turkey croquettes... More

Despite some renovations being done in the inn, we had a delicious dinner in the "pumpkin room"! My husband and I enjoyed a corn chowder to start and I had a delicious chicken pot pie...just what you would expect in a country inn . Our waitress was accommodating and kind. The staff was very enthusiastic about their offerings which was... More

Found this place through trip advisor- whoever posted the Lobster Mac n Cheese had us here immediately. The lobster mac and cheese is a must-try! Very delicious and the lobster was cooked perfectly. I had the warm spinach salad with salmon, and I have to say this was one of the best top lunches I've had - great if you... More

Traveling through New England we ended up with an extra day in our itinerary and drove from Northhampton to Old Sturbridge. For dinner we went to the Publick House and it was amazing! The dining room was very quaint and historic. The food was superb! I had an entree dish of scallops and was shocked at the size of the... More

Had lunch here this week. Fine place for what it is- an historic inn in a touristy town. We were in dining room, where they take reservations, as opposed to the tavern where they do not. Food was average, service was fine. Place was very crowded, but wait staff cheerfully kept up. I would not hesitate to recommend it as... More

Very old place. Its like you went 200 years back in time. All the food is made from scratch and the food was very tasty and just really good .I can't wait to go back and try their regular menu . Xmas buffet at the public house was a good idea.

Chose the Publick House for late lunch before attending the Village "Christmas by Candlelight" Holiday Festival. Food was hearty and delicious, particularly enjoyed the Potato & Bacon Soup before Baked Scrod Entree. Colonial atmosphere & warm service compliment the food that feels as if it was home-cooked. Excellent for families - Servers were very accommodating to our daughter. Upstairs Dining... More

Just returned from this restaurant and it was Amazing. From the moment you walk in you are transported back in time.Even kept the pay phone. The food is the same as your grandparents would make, comfort food. We drove 1 1/2 hours to get here and I can say that it was worth the trip. Food, service, and atmosphere are truly wonderful.

Absolutely Charming resturaunt and in in the heart of Sturbridge MA. An old world ambiance in a historic old in the restaurant has a wide selection of quintessentially New England fare from local seafood to pot pies. Be sure to get there early and browse the bakery and take in the historic setting.
