Restaurant Week- 3 tables occupied, waited 25 minutes and didn't even get water. We'll have to try when they are not so busy.

My husband and I used to frequent the old 220 Merrill Restaurant where we had a favorite window booth and a favorite meal, ossobuco. We had postponed trying the new 220 Restaurant after the new ownership and new remodel. However, tempted by Birmingham Restaurant Week, we tried it last night, a Tuesday. First we sat at high top table near... More

I visited 220 Merrill for lunch with a work pal and had no expectations at all - but I have to say, the thing that eclipsed the open airy feel of the place and the Bar was the Service. The explanation of the Menu and giving explanations and suggestions to a newcomer like myself was excellent. Really enjoyed the food... More

Stopped in because of the appealing view of seating in the window. Wednesday is 22% off wine and the three of us shared a bottle -delightful. There is a menu for chopped salad with add your own ingredients. The salads came with generous proportions. Bread is very good and plentiful. Atmosphere warm and elegant.

An all time classic, great atmosphere, great drinks and schnazzy cocktails served tour liking. Each time I get back to Detroit, I make a point of going to 220. The food is very good, definitely worth a visit if youre there on business, pleasure.

don't know if it always like this on a Saturday night or what but the place was insane - yuppyish which made it VERY noisy/pushy. Great for them, bad for us looking for a little more low key. American cuisine food was good, nothing outrageous although they did appeal to everyone's appetite-soup, salads, pizza, dinner entrees, etc. The guys loved... More

We love 220! The staff knows how to make you feel special and welcome. Beautiful restaurant with great food. They have recently added Sushi to the menu. A great addition! It is delicious and reasonably priced! When you go ask for Chrissy! You will be glad you did! Don't forget to try out the Sunday brunch!

I use to go to the old 220, which was a landmark! The 220 2.0 in comparison is nothing special. Just pretentious but with no fundamentals. Food is nothing special and overpriced. The crowd has become kind of weird too, and normally this is the sign when places are not going to last very long. I wished they would have... More

I loved the NY strip steak! and they served with the fresh bread from the hot oven with a melting butter! The service was 5 stars, from the front desk to the waitress to the manager; they are kindly and have the smile all the time!

I used to have meals and drinks here at 220 around 10 years ago. I remember it was a fun place to eat and also to enjoy some bands below in lower level. I recently went back after a long time- I was alone and was trying to eat a lunch and I swear the bugs were crawling out of... More
