Very disappointed. We have visited The Bell many times and it had become a firm favourite as the food and service were so reliably good. However, after trying to phone all week we turned up to find the blinds down and the place closed -...More

Booked a table for 5 which they got wrong and ended up sitting on a table for 3 people. Food was very average and expensive. Overall very disappointed.

I'm saddened to see negative reviews on the page, particularly as the new licencees are trying to build their custom. People must realise that taking over a successful business is a hard act to follow and with staff leaving for University it is difficult to recruit new staff immediately. Tom and Hannah are doing their best and can only continue to improve with constructive advice from customers. Please show your support by raising issues as they happen and not at the end of the meal. If you feel that a member of staff has spoken out of turn by offering a bill too early, or you don't like the wait please raise it. I have used the pub for food and a drink for many years and will continue to do so and will continue to offer my support and advice to Tom and Hannah. Please put yourselves in their shoes for one day and see if you could do better ... then offer them something constructive please. Just for an aside note ... I am not on the payroll and neither am I member of their family or, as yet, a friend .. I am a customer with a want to see them succeed.
