Planned our lunch here for walk through Meon Valley. Prebooked and just as well as pub busy with another walking group. Been recently updated as last time we visited was preCovid. Friendly and efficient staff and very welcoming. Only problem is limited parking so car...share if possibleMore
Excellent roast dinner 5star, service was good just our table was very close to one behind which meant it made service a bit difficult
Fabulous lunch, attentive service. Highly recommend the sharing fish platter as a starter and the moule. So good can’t wait to return.
Lovely pub but the welcome from the staff terrible. Served you with distaste . Perhaps because we are not regulars . Will not visit again .
Looking for a pub meal with my wife and friends and my wife suggested the White Lion at Soberton based on her experience with her yoga friends. From the welcome as we arrived, though the excellent pub style meals and superb desserts everything was what...you would want from an evening out. Should make a special mention of our server....unfortunately I didn't get her name...who also enhanced our evening with her friendliness and "banter"... All in all it scores 11 out of 10 from us!!More
Visited with friends on a Saturday evening and enjoyed a great meal. Everything was homemade, even the chunky chips, and freshly cooked. Prices were reasonable and the service was efficient and friendly.
Very disappointed. Parking a nightmare, not family friendly, no greeting on arrival, just ignored. Unable to deal with a simple dietary requirement of a well cooked burger for my expectant daughter in law in spite of clearly requesting it. Sent back but returned still pink....Certainly will not return.More
Went a couple of years ago with a walking group. Since then have been telling people what a lovely pub this was. Today was totally disappointed, waited 50 minutes for our order for two to arrive. No apologies given for our long wait and we...were sitting feeling quite depleted on the thought of do we order another two drinks at the cost £14 to accompany our meal? . My verdict on the pie it was hard crusted, all the veg were cold and I felt very disappointed. Chose this pub for my birthday option! That was a mistake. Nobody checked to see if we were happy with our meal and as much as I like to support local pubs I cannot see any myself going or recommending this pub.More
Excellent meal!! The best food we have had in a long time. Pie of the day was delicious, and came with veg and potatoes / chips. Reasonable price too £14.95 Kids menu is small but the food was great and a huge portion. Service from...the young waitress service was excellent, friendly, knowledgeable and interacted with our son. The best bit though was the puddings..... OMG. The cheesecake was incredible.More
Excellent Sunday Lunch. We stopped for lunch en route to the ferry port as a group of 11. The Sunday lunch was excellent, large plates with a great choice of vegetables, the staff were super friendly and the beer garden was a lovely spot to enjoy...the sunshine. Would highly recommendMore
It’s a nice village pub and the food was good. Table of 6, the food was good quality and staff were efficient. A nice afternoon spent there. The camembert to start was very nice and probably the best camembert I’ve ever had. This was followed...by chicken kiev.More
We found this place by chance the first time we went, it’s a bit off the main route. We enjoyed it so much we made a detour the next time that we were in the area. Food and service just as good both visits.
A lovely setting in a rural Hampshire Meon Valley village adjacent to the Village Green and Parish Church. The main attraction was a pub that still has other items on a Sunday lunch menu other than just roasts. As it was Father's Day we had...booked a table. A genuine and warm welcome on arrival asking if we wanted to sit inside or outside. Vegetarian Wellington was described as being lovely by my wife after our server had described all the ingredients. My beef, mushroom and red wine pie with fresh vegetables and gravy was great too. It was nice to see a service charge was not automatically added to the bill so it was a pleasure to leave a voluntary tip after attentive and good service.More
lovely old pub set in a lovely village which does decent food and always a nice pint of ale.great garden to sit in the sun too!
