We went there for the desert parlor. The desert parlor is closed but they still serve deserts from the restaurant. Beautiful building, if you like old craftsmanship, you should see this place. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We had the chocolate ugli cake and chocolate Cartier, both were delicious. We didn't see any ghosts but we heard that they... More

We had a table of 8 for a birthday dinner. Our server Daniel was excellent. Everything was excellent from the amuse bouche to the root vegetable soup to the various dinners to the awesome bread. Everyone loved their entree and we ordered a variety. Service was impeccable and the house itself is amazing.

My husband and I decided to take Wedding Part 2 Reception to family and friends in Detroit -- we live in Los Angeles. We are so glad that we chose The Whitney. The mansion is gorgeous and beautifully restored. The food was delicious. And Samantha Cesarz and the wait staff made everything easy for us. Also, the 3rd floor Ghost... More

We've enjoyed the Whitney a number of times. It's primary charm is it's history. One of the most beautiful "restaurants" I've dined in. I put restaurant in quotes because it is actually the former home of a lumber baron built in 1890, which has since been converted into a restaurant. They use all three floors and serve in most of... Where to begin The minute you enter the doors, you know you are in for an awesome experience. Each room is a different dining room, with it's own story. If you get the chance, take part in the 'Champagne' tour which includes a glass of champagne. Very informative and Interesting. The food is extraordinary, served with class and expertise. Looking... The food was very good, the atmosphere was great, and the service was outstanding. It is been a long time since I have felt a server put forth so much effort to make sure we all had a special experience. When we walked in the door we were greeted immediately and given pre-printed menus that said Happy 80th Birthday with... More

I live in Ann Arbor which is about 40 miles west of the Whitney. I'm still thinking about this dish and hope they still have it next time I make it in.

The Whitney usually presents a special menu / event for New Year's Eve. It includes an incredible meal and an amazing wine selection (plus champagne), which is made even better by the outstanding service by The Whitney's staff.

One of the most elegant restaurants in the Detroit area with the food to match. Beautiful old world decor, first class service and a wide ranging menu to suit every palate. While not inexpensive, this is a wonderful venue for any special occasion, or any occasion for that matter. In the summer, the garden patio bar is a great place... More
