My sister and nephew went for breakfast here. We're lifelong Detroiters but we'd never been here before! My sister tried the skillet and they got her order wrong. My nephew ordered the Belgian waffle and it took a really long time for them to bring out. I had the french toast and they never brought us any syrup! No, it... More

Small place, but awesome food, quintessential mom & Pop diner, but the coffee refills were plentiful, the food quantity was excellent and it came out hot & fast. If your looking for a fancy swanky joint, this is not it!

This is a low key, simple little restaurant with great service, good food, and generous portions. The omelette covered over half the plate and the hash browns covered the other half!! They pile it high and bring it fast. I was especially happy about the FLAVORED coffee creamer!! Just ask, they'll grab it out of the cooler for you and... More

My son insisted we return to the Ham Shop for a second consecutive year. It was on our way to the Lions game - so a perfect spot for pregame breakfast. Place was pretty busy - we waited about 10-15 minutes for a table - not bad given the amount of people in Downtown Detroit on Thanksgiving. Large Portions and... More

This is a real hidden gem and the service is outstanding. You also get a chance to mix with the locals. I ate there everyday I was in town and had a great breakfast every morning.

I've eaten breakfast at this restaurant for many years, but not as much since they moved to their new location. The food is always consistent and reasonably priced.

We plucked this restaurant (actually called "The Ham Shoppe") off Google maps because it was close to our hotel and because it served breakfast all day (it was mid-morning). We really enjoyed our meals: nothing fancy, but well cooked and plentiful. And VERY reasonably priced! Someday, we'll go back for lunch....

We ate at this little place three days in a row. They featured generous, simple breakfast portions that arrived quickly. Being from the South, we asked for picante sauce. "I'm not sure what that is," the server confessed. Nothing fancy here, just a good hot breakfast to start your day.

Convenient location to the Stadium and hotel. Hearty home-style breakfast with great hot coffee. Don't forget to take your ticket to the counter for checkout.

Tried this place for the first time because they accepted food comps from Greektown Casino. I have walked by this restaurant a number of times and it is always busy. Walked in on a Sunday at 11am and was quickly seated and handed menus. It took awhile for a waitress to take our drink order and menu order. Received our... More
