The Old Shillelagh is our "go to" bar in Greek Town. It is a great place to stop in for a beer before an event. We usually park in Greek town and take advantage of their free bus to games and concerts.

A traditional stop whenever we are in the D. Dirty floors, always smells terrible and always a great time. We had great service; fast and friendly. The door guy was personable but I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of an escort out. Maybe a little overpriced for shots but it was New Year's Day and a Lion's... More

Kind of a dive with all-wood interior. Great vibe, happy people drinking and eating. We sat at a table. There didn't appear to be bar stools at the bar, so everyone there was standing. But everyone in the place, including the waitresses, were friendly and smiling. I felt like I walked into my hometown hangout. Loved it.

I was in Detroit for the weekend to see the Lions football game. I have been to Detroit on many occasions and spent many fun nights at "The Old Shillelagh". My experience this past weekend was not so good. I ordered a $5 draught and gave the male bar tender a $20. He gave me five $1 bills back. I... More

We spent the night in Detroit and this was our first stop. It was early afternoon and we had the place to ourselves basically. The staff was friendly and the drinks were good. We tried a few appetizers and the Reuben egg rolls did not disappoint. We will definitely return!

I came here after a Detroit Tigers game at Comerica Park. Since it was my first time clubbing, I was nervous! The bar is small, but friendly. I ordered a huge pitcher of beer, which my friend ordered (I copied him as I wasn't sure what to order)! And was so full trying to finish it. There was a nice... More

We were there the day of the Detroit marathon and the Tigers match so joufully crowded. Fun and relaxed hang out.

I love this bar! Great Irish sing-a-longs upstairs and lots of dancing! Nice place to bring a group of people!

Stopped in for a quick drink before the game and came back later in the evening. Service was fast and entertaining. Grabbed some snacks later and everything was great! Best stop of our trip!

I stopped by for a quick drink the other day and found myself at The Old Shillelagh. It is a pretty low key place. The service was good. It was quite in the early afternoon so we were able to chat it up with the staff. I would recommend this spot for a good afternoon beer. They had a good... More
