We love this place. Discovered it the weekend it opened, 1998 I recall. We have never had a bad meal, we have never had a meal that we wouldn't order again. Great food, great prep, great presentation. We normally sit at the bar when we are just a couple, it's a fun place, always hopping. Many specials and special events.... More

Drove down to bellaire and decided to go to elk rapids for dinner-despite crummy roads, snow, wind and rain. Boy was it worth it. The food was excellent. Everyone left full and satisfied. Definitely worth visiting if you happen to be in this neck of the woods...

Stopped for lunch for the first time, instead of dinner. Fried green tomatoes were tasty and plenty to share. Crawfish chowder was very good, and the shrimp and grits had great flavor. Not like other shrimp and grits I've had, more cajun with tomato sauce. Very filling. Ginger gin fizz was a wonderfully refreshing and tasty beverage. Their golden margaritas... More

We stopped by over the Thanksgiving week early in the day. There were only a few people there but we were greeting warmly and our service was excellent. It was nice to be able to order food not normally associated with Northern Michigan. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and it looks like it can seat quite a few folks... More

Pearls was packed when we arrived. Had a bit of trouble finding a parking space. But I feel a busy parking lot is usually a good sign. I wasn't wrong! Entered the restaurant and asked for a table for two and were quickly seated. Took a bit before our waitress addressed us. She was cheery (Shelby) and friendly and helped... More

Stopped in here after a day of sampling some of T.C.'s breweries. We tried the Bayou Sampler, Crawfish and Corn chowder and some deep fried okra. There was so much food we ended up taking more than half of it home with us. The food is VERY good but not exactly cheap. If you go on a weekend it might... More

We stopped here for dinner on a Saturday night during the peak, fall, leaf color period. We arrived around 6 and it was packed, but didn't have to wait very long at the bar. The place seemed to be humming with happy people. We had some oysters on the half shell and fried tomatoes for appetizers which were both good.... More

We've been making Pearl's a destination for the last 18 1/2 years that they have been open. Where else would we go for our 20th? We not only had wonderful food, but Jen was a fabulous server who obviously loves her job and customers. Over the years, we indulge in the appetizers for a great meal. We had oysters Rockefeller,... A quiet Friday afternoon in Kewadin, where to go for dinner? Pearl's, of course. The oysters on the half-shell were excellent--fresh, tasty, and nicely presented; and the beer (IPA) on tap was also fresh and satisfying. The twin filet medallions were cooked just right...and I even had enough for a great 'left over' breakfast the next day. Great staff and... More

We come up from Kalamazoo. Used to make sure included Pearls. Recipes have changed to some items and just aren't the same. Skipped the last five years and decided to try it again tonight with friends that were up from Grand Rapids. Should have skipped it again. Not like it used to be. Too bad.
