El Azteco's nachos, botanas, and Dos Equis kept us warm, full, and happy during my undergraduate years at Michigan State, so it had to be my first dinner destination moving back to Michigan this month. The margarita, nachos, and guac were perfect. So happy to be home!

I have been going to El Azteco for years. The Enchiladas de Joque or the Blue Corn Enchiladas are my favorite. Chips - great Salsa - great - nice bite to it - awesome. If you are looking for fine dining go elsewhere, if you are looking for a great, fabulous neighborhood Mexican restaurant look no further - this is... More

Great cold beer, fast and authentic Mexican food. Very generous with the guacamole. Love the nachos and bean burritos. Chips are fresh and tasty. Cheese dip is fantastic and unique. The salsa could be hotter, but has a good flavor. Service is fast and friendly. This place is about the food, not having a shinny pretty floor or décor. This... More

I have been to Mexico City, and this dining area looked worse than street vendors experience in Mexico. Filthy floors looked like never mopped or cleaned. Yet place yesterday was packed, so maybe not many alternatives for Mexican food in that town. It is not just my opinion,as I next day wondered what the lower reviews of this place were,and... More

Too many onions in EVERY thing. Even if you love onions , enough is enough. There is no way of eating around all those onions.

Been going here since 1978. We ate there the night before our daughter was born and it was the FIRST restaurant she visited 2 weeks afterward. We've always loved the place. Tonight we ordered our usual Toppopo Salad. It had NO chicken, almost no frijoles, little guacamole, a few peas, fewer tomatoes and virtually no cheese. We pointed this out... More

El Azteco gets it. They come close to delivering the wonderful and complex flavors discovered in top end Mexican restaurants, but yet at popular prices. We really enjoy coming here in the Spring and dining El fresco on the second level.

El Az is great. We had 4 people dining. We started with a 1/2 of topopo salad as an appetizer that we shared. Then we all ordered variations of the burrito plate. Everybody said the burrito was fabulous. That is all that needs to be said!

Small old school restaurant, could use an update....however the meals are cheap and the food is good and the serving size is generous. Chips and salsa are complimentary...go for the hot! Quick friendly service. Daily specials.
