To dark to walk anymore and seen sign for pub 50 yards away. What a lovely local! Barman....could be landlord was most welcoming. Had a nice chat with couple of locals and my Theakstons old peculiar IPA was perfection!!!! Highley recommend this find! Can't see no negatives

Wonderful local pub, great for either a stop in after going for a weekend walk, Friday night fish-n-chips or Saturday night for live music. Highly recommend for the lively, country pub atmosphere and rotating beers. Dog friendly and great owner. Food served only on selected dates (Friday night fish/chips, Saturday brunch/lunch).

Another trip down to the Abbey Inn to enjoy the festivities of Bonfire Night as we have done for the past few years. Every year the bonfire festivities draws good crowds from neighbouring areas. There are always catering tents outside for you to‎ purchase drinks and food to ease the queues at the bar, and you can also buy the... More

I had a veggie roast, other half had lamb. Absolutely perfect. Staff are very welcoming, pub is a hidden gem - kid and dog friendly. Lovely selection of beers. Our food was just lovely! Everything cooked to perfection, my veggie roast was all vegetarian (even the gravy), partner's lamb was falling off the bone. Gorgeous Yorkshire puddings and potatoes. Decent... More

Excellent Sunday pub lunches, lamb shank and roast pork. With a lovely pint of porter. We'll be back.

I have been to the Abbey on many occasions and I have enjoyed the atmosphere, the garden and especially, the beer. Today, after a walk on the canal, we stopped for a snack. Sunday lunch can get busy, I know, but after waiting for three quarters of an hour I asked the girl that served me how long my food... More

Called in for a pint on Sunday after a long walk along the canal. At 12 noon it was not open but did open ten minutes or so later by a barman who was so wet with sweat he could have stepped out of a shower. One server and instantly a queue of punters - a long queue. The pint... More

I visited to have an evening meal. I had a burger there a few years ago and I was really impressed by it and have always remembered it. It is also one of my locals, so I visit there fairly regularly, although not usually to have food. Based on my previous experience, I ordered the burger again. Unfortunately, things seem... More

Fab range of quality ale and a friendly atmosphere. A little on the scruffy side but somehow that didn't seem to matter to me or the many other people that were there at the time.
