Hubby and I were in the area looking for dinner, there are many, many Indian restaurants on this street so we didn’t have a plan. Walking down the street we saw Ginger in a little old heritage house, we browsed their signage on the street...front And decided to give it a go - so glad we did!
It was a before 6pm on a Tuesday night so we had a choice of tables in the front room area as it was not too busy. While we were there 3 other Indian couples came to dine too. We chose Bhaji and Chilli Chicken for entrees, then Dahl Makhani and an eggplant curry (I cant remember the exact name, something Baingan) as mains and hubby has a garlic naan too.
Such generous portions were brought to the table for the entrees we realised maybe one would have been enough, but as they were delicious we happily gobbled everything up. Then came the mains and we were again impressed. The flavours, exquisite, the portions again generous, just beautiful food. Hubby also enjoyed the naan commenting on how fresh it was.
The service was very good, the waitress smiled, especially when I said how much we enjoyed the food, and days later we are still talking about how great our experience was there. We have eaten at many Indian restaurants throughout the world and this is one of our top picks for great food and flavours.
My only suggestion is that perhaps the front room needs a new coat of paint, the wallpaper replaced and the mosaic borders on the giant mirrors need some repair.
If you are hungry and love Indian food like we do, go and try Ginger, you won’t be disappointed.More
