Not much to say. Good food and atmosphere in a tiny location. Portions appeared small but we were full when we finished eating.

We joined another couple before a Wharton Center event. I based the selection on Trip Advisor rankings, and the ranking was spot on. This is a tiny restaurant, but the service and food were very good. We were seated quickly and offered drinks. We ordered appetizers, and then the waitress took our food order, repeating it so nothing was lost... More

I lived in Japan for many years, and really love Japanese food. I have been going to Akagi for many years, and have always had a very pleasant experience. The current owner worked at the restaurant under the previous owner, and has maintained the same high standards in the menu. As other reviewers have mentioned, the tempura is a real... More

We love his small family restaurant where the owners focus on authentic Japanese dishes and not on luxurious surroundings. They serve food we used to eat when we lived in Japan, and it tastes just as good if not better. The wait staff is attentive, kind, and courteous; the prices are low. You won't find a better bargain in the... More

What had hoped to be a fun and happy Mothers Day lunch with my daughter and granddaughter turned out sour. Although it was Sunday the Sunday menu prices "don't apply because it is Mothers Day"! Really? If anything we should get a break on Mothers Day. Oh well... We ordered and the roll my daughter ordered turned out to be... More

My husband and I come here often, and the food is always fantastic. After a summer spent in Texas for work, the first meal I wanted when I got home was Akagi! The staff is very friendly, and you can't beat the price!

I eat here all the time. Their Akagi roll and fried crab are exellent. A small family run restruant kind of hidden away, but great food and service. I would have lunch there every day if I could.

I have been going to Akagi Japanese Restaurant for over 11 years. I usually eat there 2-3 times per week and have tried most items on the menu. I have had Japanese food all over the U.S. and Japan and there is not a place that offers the best combination of great food, fantastic service and reasonable prices as that... More
