The food here is average, the atmosphere is nice, but the service was poor. Our waiter seemed aloof, & didn't check on us once during our dinner. We had to ask a busboy to get our waiter so we could get our check and get...More

Best steak salad I’ve ever had. Melt in your mouth tenderloin, cooked perfectly, with just the right amount of dressing and blue cheese over fresh greens. Can’t say enough. Husband really enjoyed the pulled pork enchiladas, and he’s not an enchilada guy. The empty plates...More

Thought we could catch happy hour but too late so we sat at the bar and ordered various apps from the menu. Good food - limited small plates but they were delicious. Nice ambiance and great service.

Ordered the Salmon, which was glazed with a delicious honey dijon mustard. The salmon was prepared just right. The bread is also very tasty here.

The fish and chips was not good. Batter was very greasy and fish was mushy. They were very sorry and offered to give me something else but unfortunately we were out of time. Service and manager were great.

Today we had the lobster nachos and the salmon special which was Wild Caught (at least they said that). Both were very good and we would go back.

We dine there at least 3 times a month. We love the food, the atmosphere and the service. It has an active, fun but not overwhelming vibe. Specials are always good and the regular fare is consistent. Good for dining alone, with couples and even...More

Yes, the mac and cheese is great, but everything on the menu is good. Make sure you ask for their craft cocktail menu, they got some real good drinks there.

Town Tavern is a cool, contemporary American classic In 2007, a modern take on a traditional 1930s tavern opened its doors and made its mark on the busy streets of downtown Royal Oak. Town Tavern is a dining destination bursting with personality and serving up American comfort food with flair. When renowned designer Ron Rea was tasked with creating a contemporary version of an old-time neighborhood tavern, he infused the space with an extra-long bar, dark mahogany and rich red bar stools. Walls of the restaurant are filled with old photographs of Royal Oak, while walls of the bar are stocked to the ceiling with what's needed to create your favorite cocktail. Don't let the traditional tavern vibe fool you. Our menu is anything but typical. You'll find the finest bar plates, with a creative twist. The cheeseburgers top many best-of lists. Guests come from far and wide for our award-winning Venison Chili. And our Lobster Mac and Cheese is comfort food with upscale appeal. Of course, every dish deserves a beverage to match it. Choose yours from our extensive wine, beer and cocktail list. Town Tavern is that comfortable dining and drinking establishment that lends itself to leisurely meals and long conversations. Spend time here and you'll quickly understand why we're the talk of the town.
