About
The Pilot Inn is a world famous, family run pub & restaurant, situated a stone’s throw (and there’s a lot of them around) from the sea, in the heart of the stunning Dungeness National Nature Reserve. Steeped in the smuggling history of Romney Marsh, its inception followed the luring aground of the Spanish vessel, Alfresia, in 1633. They murdered the crew and looted the cargo of spirits. The ship was used to build the original Pilot and some of the original timbers remain in the bar today.

Went here yesterday for meal since Covid started. Can't fault attention to Covid regulations. My problem is with the food. One of my grandchildren ordered a child's meal, looked very unappetizing. The sausage as well as chips were overcooked to point of being nearly inedible....More

The pub offers an excellent range of food but the fish of of a particularly high standard. As it was half term the restaurant was packed but full of atmosphere. The food was well cooked and delicious.

Didn’t see Sunday roast on the menu, we favour the Tenterden Garden centre or The Warren Pub in New Romney.
