We regularly visit this establishment for their outstanding carvery that is very good value at £12.95 with a reduction for over 55's. The Saddlers is always exceptionally clean and tidy, very Covid friendly and the bar and table staff attentive and polite. Our visit this...evening 14 January was no exception and we thoroughly enjoyed the carvery that was up to its usual consistently good standard. With a wide choice of freshly cooked meats and choice of nine vegetable dishes plus gravy and sauces, it will take some beating. Worthy of mention this evening were the very efficient waitresses and particularly the very polite young man serving the carvery, who came to ours and other tables to ensure we were happy with our meal. A very nice touch. So, all in all, another great experience, well worth a 5 star and we are looking forward to going again soon.More

We had not booked a table and it was a long shot that they would be able to accomodate us but we had nothing to worry about. We had arrived with our 4-legged friend and were very happy to have eaten outside, but the staff...and manager, would not hear of it and we were invited in to sit opposite the bar with our dog. We were so grateful. The food was outstanding as was the service that we received and the staff were lovely and friendly. Cannot thank them enough for being so kind to us and for providing a lovely eating experience in their establishment - I would like to say a very big thank to the amazing staff.More

Came in this evening on the off chance of getting a meal. The staff were lovely & the food was Exceptional. Sat at table 34. Hubby had the plaice & I had the Mary Rose prawn salad. Best meal i have had in a long...time. The portions were huge. I couldn’t finish mine as much as I tried so hubby finished for me. Cannot praise this establishment enough. Thank you to all who we had contact with. Not often I leave reviews but this evening made me have to write about it.More

Although we appreciate the offer of 15% off for over 55s we prefer to eat smaller portions. Ideally a menu has a section for Smaller Appetites, perhaps combined with the Children's Menu. Where there isn't such a section we often order from the Children's Menu,...with no difficulty. We were able yesterday to eventually persuade the staff to let us order from the Under 11s Menu even though my wife is over 80.She enjoyed her meal but even though it was a smaller portion she was not able to clear her plate, so if she had received a full size portion there would have been a lot left over. The food we had was very good, but we reluctant to come again if there may be a problem in ordering a smaller portion.More

Thank you for your review. I understand your predicament and am very pleased that you enjoyed your food so much. Unfortunately more complications added to the menu would cause severe delays and given the present staff shortages and new regulations this would not be acceptable....More

We enjoyed their carvery so much that we went back for the same several days later. This eatery is inviting, staff are friendly and helpful, and they do a special price for over 55s from Monday to Friday. We can enthusiastically recommend it.

My family and I had a Sunday Carvery here last Sunday. Lots of choice. More than I expected. Good quality meat selection. Service was fast and friendly. We all had a very enjoyable Sunday lunch. The only thing that let it down was the stuffing....The stuffing was to soft and stodgy all over. We like a crispy top and to be soft in the centre.More

Yes dogs are welcome . As we had a large party we phoned ahead to ask, and they put us towards the end of the restaurant area, but there were other dogs with couples.
