My Mother is in Castle View residential nursing home and I live 150 miles away, so on my fortnightly visits to my mother I eat at the poet, it's clean and tidy and the staff are very attentive. A good selection of food

We had the worst pub meal here about six years ago, but thought we ought to give it another chance. Beer ok, wine ok, cheaper than the Duchess, but the lighting is far to bright to have a comfortable drink

The customer service was non-existent and the food was at best passable at worst undercooked and lackluster.

We have been under the same management for two and a half years, some of the staff have changed in that time. I remember you leaving a review in which you weren't particularly happy and all I can say is please try us again and hopefully you will have a more enjoyable experience - we have a new boiler now so there shouldn't be any problem with the heating 😊
Many thanks and we hope to see you soon

Hello, at the moment we have fillets of trout on our specials board which will come off once it is sold out and our regular cod and chips which is a permanent specials board fixture! We vary our specials but will always try and put dishes on which don't feature heavily on the menu - fish being one of them. I hope this helps!
